I run Shell 93 Octane 90% of the time as Shell stations are all over Florida, and it's a really great cleaning fuel -
Originally I cleaned the valves and intake tract by spraying Startron Decarbonizer into the intake with the valves closed - cleaner will pool up and soak the valves and overnight it can be cleaned up with long forceps and pieces of cloth rag on the end, ( or huge Q Tips if you can find the ) to wipe off the valves and intake tracts.

Personally I don't like letting hard and soft carbon particles be sucked down into the cylinder to cause unneeded friction and wear, scratches etc. so I clean it up and remove as much of it as possible. It's amazing how much came out of mine -

Once the OEM oil separator is cleaned, sealed and repacked and / or an oil separator added there's very little future oil to foul the intake tracts and using really good fuel helps maintain the cleanliness as mentioned. Maybe a yearly light soak and quick cleaning is all that's required.
Always buy good fuel - there is no possible savings in running cheap gas in a Revolution engine. (y)
