After hooking up with a couple of other forum members recently I figured I'd see who was interested in a CT meet & ride...

I'm thinking we can get one in before the weather goes to crap either late this month or early October. I have a few routes in mind and was thinking of a few places for a final destination/lunch... Anyone interested please post up and I'll get the ball rolling...

Also, let me know if a Saturday or Sunday works best. Thanks.

I finally ironed out a route for Sundays ride. The start point is directly off The Merritt Parkway (Rt.15) which is easy to connect to from I95 and I91.

START: 9:00AM Meet & Greet, 10AM Departure

END:
Lady Luck Saloon
2931 Fairfield Ave
Bridgeport‎ CT

The Route will consist of Rt.34 - 188 - 67 - 7 - 37 - 39 -53 - 302 - 58 - 1 - 130. We will be going through numerous reseviors, state parks and scenic roads. It's a fairly long ride but with a small, tight group it should be a blast.

I am always up for getting together. I'm just outside of Springfield, MA but I'll come on down. My schedule is the tricky part, so I'll keep an eye on what you guys plan.

Im in west haven, but my tire is toast and im too lazy to put another one on. If your going to do it I would say sooner than later. its prob gonna get cold quick.

I am located in Orange (south central CT). But to accommodate everyone the we could have satellite start points and meet somewhere close to the middle of the state... I'm thinking Sept 25/26 or Oct 2/3. Can we get enough people together for the last weekend of the month...???

It would be sick to get 20-30 V-Rods together. And if this works out, I can organize a Northeast V-Rod meet for next spring...

Sad indeed. One of the places I'm thinking as a final destination is Maggie McFly's in Middlebury. I have to look into the parking situation tho...
There's a commuter lot only a few hundred feet from Maggie's, and further up Straights Turnpike there's loads of parking lots begging to be overrun with bikes. In all reality, the Bunker Hill side of the K-Mart plaza parking lot is always near empty. (That's assuming you're sticking with that area as a destination.)

Can I suggest a tour of the North West corner of the state?

~120 miles, 3 hr tour through some of the best country CT has to offer. Roads aren't busy and for the most part are very nicely maintained. There's plenty of places in the area to drop anchor for a bite to eat and bullsh!t for a bit too.

Just tossing some ideas out there. If I can get my bike back together and can peel myself away from the family for the day, I'm definitely game.

We have a few forum members in North Central CT, and Western MA here. Always up for a ride.
Northwest hills makes for a great ride. Lots of places to check out.

Ok so how does Sunday September 26th sound? Too soon?

All in favor for Sunday the 26th, post up a "+1" or "+2" so I can get a list going for a head count.

I'm thinking central meet point between 10-11am, with departure as one big group at 11. that way everyone can leave no matter where they are at a reasonable time... Also, post up where you're located so members can organize satellite locations to ride in from...

Same with me. It would be a little bit of a hike for me (just outside of Albany, NY). Depending on the outcome of the final date...I would be interested.

I'm working on that right now. The only problem is I don't know of any good routes in the Hartford area. I have plenty of nice routes everywhere else... We need to know who is coming from where to finalize the central meeting location/start point...

I do have a really nice route planned out if everyone is willing to meet up in Derby, Bridgeport, Middlebury, or Cheshire. The ride goes thru some of the nicest motorcycle roads all the way up and back around thru the western half of the state, north to south...

+1. Tom, I would be good for Sunday I think. If we could make it a bit earlier that would be awesome especially if we need to travel just to meet up. I'm working nights on Sunday so I have to back home around 4ish. Northwest Ct is a great area to ride. As far as a meeting point let me suggest everyone who is gonna be in for the ride listing their hometown. Like Tom said, once we get a head count and know where everyone is starting from we can then guage a central meeting point or satellite meeting points. That being said, I'm in West Haven. Let's spread the word, I'm sure we all know other members who may not know about this thread.

+1. I am in Clinton myself. Durham makes a good central meeting place if that helps anyone. The Vanilla Bean is also a nice ride, altho it would be in the opposite corner of the state from you.
