Picking up the new nightrod this afternoon and I am already shopping my mods. One I want to do is add a fatter wheel on the back. I found places with "kits" ranging in price from $3-$4k. Other than what comes in the "kit" what else would I need in the way of mods to make this happen. I have seen some that say the cost is closer to $8-$9k for everything. Has any one who has done this give me a better estimate of actual cost?

Our 300mm wide tire kits come with everything you need for $3495. Price includes new billet black swingarm kit(pivot, axle, offset transmission pulley, spacer kit, etc), 18 x 10.0" wheel that matches the style of your stock front wheel, and a 300mm Avon Cobra rear tire mounted+balanced. You will need to trim the inner fender so we recommend relocated the rear license plate to the left side off the bottom shock. We also carry the license plate frames and new rear turn signals if you want a complete new rear end look.

FAT tire envy is one of the deadliest mod sins :diablo:. If you desire control issues with decreased turning & leaning ability & have a death wish, this mod is for you:angeldev:. But for looks , it makes your fatazz waist line appear thin:)

just putting this out there.

280 tire is cheaper and looks just as good.

Hogpro kit for 300 is top of the line.

Cool! :)

Have you ridden a 'Rod with a rear tire that wide? It really effects handling, and not for the better. You don't want to put out that kind of $ only to find out you hate it. If you like to just go straight it's fine but if you like to turn often.......

I have a 300 with the Hogpro set up. I have had it for almost four years and I would not go back. I upgraded the suspension front and rear and switched from the crappy stock Dunlops to Avons at the same time and I love the ride and handling... It is no sport bike by any means but it still handles at least as good if not better than stock. I know the 300 tire is just for looks and on paper it should not handle as well but that was not the case for me, maybe it was due to changing the suspension and tires at the same time. All you 300 haters... have you actually rode one??

Hi Hogpro, I am from the UK originally but now live in South Korea, I have just got a V rod muscle on an '09 plate and I am considering going to either a 280 or 300 rear tyre!

Do you sell the full kit for the muscle and can you ship to South Korea? If so can you please quote me for the muscle plus quick shipping?

Also, is the mod fairly easy to do, with good instructions and maybe a video ?

Cheers

Alan
