I'm guessing the seal is leaking what's the probability that somthing worse is going on? I'm pretty mechanically inclined. Somthing I could do in a couple hours at home?

First , rule out any possible leak above the pump that is trickling down. Hoses and thermostat housing are possibles. If the leak is starting from the weep hole only at the rear bottom of the pump housing , the metal gasket could be rusted through. This happens from owners washing there bikes and letting water sit in there causing rust. Second condition can be from a failing seal, letting coolant past it and out of the weeping hole. That far into it , replace the gaskets and pump seal. Seal can most likely be had aftermarket.

Your hose also looks like it's at about the end of life. Looks a little swollen. time to change that out while your at it. Not hard.
