I went to start my bike the other day after it had been sitting for months. Battery was low and when I eng the starter all the lights started flashing rapidly. The bus error message came up and then nothing. I located a used turn signal module. Replaced it. Bike starts now but still has bus error. The tach and speedo no longer work either. I tried checking codes but I get “no rsp” now. I’m assuming there was a voltage spike and took out the IM as well. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

I don’t have security so I’m good then right? Just plug and play.
If you just replaced a TSM with another one, no action required. Plug and play. If you removed a TSSM and installed a TSM instead, a password learn is required. If you replace a TSSM with another, it needs to be married to the ECM, password learn and fob serial numbers programmed in.. On later models these earlier version password learns you read about on the internet might not work, plus with the assigning the proximity fobs generally only the dealer can do the operation as well as some other software programs but dealer is likely the path of least frustration. Here's some info from a 2012 model.
