For what its worth, I have PM wheels, not solid....I've done the Hways and Byways at 100mph ++....never had a buffeting problem with the spoked chrome, or the solid stockers.....I also have a PHAT Boy that came with the solids, no issues there or when I swapped to the PM's..... only thing that keeps getting buffeted is my wallet, or should I say FLEECED! But for some reason I keep coming back for more!

It's all good,

I spoke with the parts wrench at the stealership about changing out my wheels to three spokes wheels. He stated that he stuck with his stock solids (Chromed), because it make no difference when traveling at speed. That the wind will not be able to pass through the three spokes because it becomes just as solid at speed. Whats everyone’s thoughts on this?

All I know is this bike is freakin scary around trucks like no bike i've ever had.

Absolutely agree with your assessment. I find myself reluctant to ride on interstates. My dilemma is I am using the touring windshield, which is a big contributing factor because it’s mounted to the fork, which it causes the wind to shift the forks based on the angle of the wind gust (Tractor trailers, etc). I found that the bike handles must better even on windy days when I ride without the windshield, but the draw back is having to fight to stay mounted at speed. (Fun is) :ride:

Its got to be the aerodynamics of the bike from front on. I was experimenting by tail gating (with enough room for emergency stops) a semi yesterday, and even my body was being blown around quite markedly. The bike must have a very turbulent frontal aspect. I agree, it's the most unsteady ride Iv'e ever had out of five Harleys and other bikes as well.
Just get use to it is all I can suggest.

Best wishes.

Ken.

I have heard of your technique, and though you may have enough room for stopping in emergency situations, you do not have enough reactive time to avoid unexpected debris.

Safe riding. :biker:

No, slip streaming isn't my riding style. As mentioned, I was experimenting with turbulance from trucks.
You learn quickly in my part of Australia not to ride / drive where you can't see the road ahead. Dead Kangaroos make for quite a speed bump, and we have road kill everywhere!

Understood. Well enjoy man, and stay away from them Kangaroos, as we struggle to say clear of Deers :ride:
