I posted this in the "How to" section with no response, so I guess I went to the wrong post.
O.K. I'm now cross-eyed looking through the forums. I have a 2002 VRSCA. I received a code that led me to the ECM connector. When I pulled the connector apart, there was corrosion in the bottom, a common problem, I understand. Closer inspection revealed pin 2 was missing from the ECM and was lodged in the female connector. I read one thread where the victim drilled out the hole for the old pin, pulled an unused pin and stuck it in the new hole. Would that work? I can"t imagine that it would, but what do I have to lose? But, if not, I have 2 questions:
1. Can the ECM be fixed by a pro or do I have to replace it?
2. If I have to replace my ECM, should I go back to HD or is there an aftermarket unit that is better?
If that pin trick does work, how would you go about doing that?
I appreciate any help here.
