If that's the look you are interested in don't give up. New castle Harley has the light assembly cheaper and you can score the bracket on eBay. Another route is keep an eye on the for sale section and these come up fairly often and you can definitely save some money that way too. Or post in the wanted section. You should be able to get everything you need for under $250 without too much hassle.

I tried to find Zanotti online with no success but found a phone # that when called a recording says all H-D parts have been sold... I really want to mod the light on my DX this same way, any suggestions on where to find parts??

use https://shop.newcastlehd.com/ instead. Zanotti's retired and referred sales over to New Castle HD. Others in this thread have ordered from them with good results. I am currently waiting on my parts from them for this mod minus the mounting bracket which I purchased off eBay.

Hey guys, Im researching this mod for my bike but have an issue. I am already running the HID mod for the stock headlamp. My questtion is if the Bulbs for the stock headlamp and this headlamo are the same or will I be throwing away my HID kit? Thanks.

why dont you guys like the fairings, thats one of the best parts about the DX in my opinion
Im with you Rod. I think the bar mount/speedo cluster looks like a huge wart growing out of the top clamps, and this "mod" just exploits it. Im glad my fairing covers that dreaded thing up, but hey...to each their own.

Bshamdy yes all part numbers are on page 1 of this thread.
But one thing to note on part (69860-07 The bracket in black that holds the light assy) you can pick it up on e-bay for about $30 to $40, however the one I order had a bad paint job and I ended up ordering it from Harley and paid through the nose...
Thanks,
Rod

having trouble finding the headlight (69873-07) at a decent price as some of you have. New Castle HD is right down the road from me and they dont have any in stock and have no expected time limit as to when they will get them again. Any idea anyone?

The price to do this mod seems to keep going up and up. I looked at New Castle and now over $300.00. I found what looks to be a knock off of the bracket on some other sites for around $50.00 vs $135.00. Has anyone seen these? I would rather keep it Harley, but for the difference might have to try.

Here is one of the sites for part 69860-07

I just did this to my 2008 DX. I ordered the parts earlier this week. Just as a follow up, I did not need the four fasteners, the (2)-3709M bolts and the (2)-3832M bolts, because I purchased what appears to be a cheaper (financially) bracket. That bracket has the fasteners (in black) included.

I paid $44 for the bracket here: http://www.ssmotorcycleparts.com/hebrwiblfiha.html. That was part number 13004.

I paid $124 for the headlight from New Castle HD: https://shop.newcastlehd.com/part/69873-07a

I paid $17 for the jumper cable to the split headlight bulbs from New Castle HD: https://shop.newcastlehd.com/part/67657-05-0

Total was $185 plus about $28 for shipping total so everything was done for $213.
