Because I have a Night Rod and because I have everything else HD Skull for the VROD I can get on my bike already, I would like to have black Skull HD Mirrors. I had someone powder coat a set, but it melted the seal (not his fault, it was a test at low temp). I had a local glass shop attempt to reseal it, but was unable to, yet they scratched the mirrors up badly. It was a $100 experiment.

Any word of a successful powdercoating of the HD Skull mirrors?

Thanks.

Well, it seems the seal is really the weak spot in the production. FORGET THE SEAL.

Take the mirror and use black RTV to fill the void.

I would buy a used set, cut the rubber out. Send it for powdercoat, masking the glass, and leave the gap. Let them powder coat the gap.

Then use black RTV to fill the gap. Let it dry overnight. Then use a razor to CAREFULLY cut the rtv off the mirror and any access off the edge.
