Hi everyone, yesterday my wife and I decided to do some exploring of the beautiful state of Montana. We're new to Montana (from San Diego) and are loving it here.

We Left around 1130 am from Billings, and rode into Red Lodge. We didn't intend on doing the beartooth pass, but after a nice visit to beartooth harley, in red lodge, and a nice lunch, we decided to press on, maybe to yellowstone! The ride is incredible, up to over 10,000 feet! It was in the 90's in Billings, and up at the top of the pass, there was snow!

We pressed on into wyoming and the decent was beautiful. What a great ride. Riding two up on a stock street rod, we were really sore and didn't make it all the way to yellowstone, but another hour or so and we would've made it. However we turned around and limped our aching rears back home.

All in all a great ride, but man we need a better seat!

If anyone is ever up in Montana, look me up and we'll do this ride it is spectacular!

While on vacation as a kid we took this trip, except we were traveling in the opposite direction. Amazing beauty! Snow on July 3, and then saw a rodeo in Red Lodge the next day in the mid 80's. I would love to take that trip on a bike!

another good ride is up and over the BigHorns Though Greybull WY and up though Shell Canyon. Shell falls, Burges Junction for lunch, and back down either Lovell or Sheridan Wy. We usually see a Cow and Calf Moose on the top of the mountain. I like this ride better then the beartooth pass myself.

Send me a email or PM if you are looking for someone to ride with you. I livein Laurel.

Took that ride with AJ a couple of years ago. Real nice ride! It was early June and there was still several feet of snow at the pass. And the US Ski team was skiing. Thanks for the escort, guy!

There is another v-roder east of here that also is a member but cant recall his name. He's also a member of Lower Yellowstone Abate chapter. Most times v-roders seem to accidentally meet up. What dates this year are the rally? We could meet at the HD dealer and ride on down. If you like I can PM you my cell phone number and we can make a plan.
Safe riding, Bruce

Bear tooth is a great ride, I've ridden it a coupls of times but never on a V rod.

I'll be going thru Montana the end of the month, or at least a small part as we ride to Glacier National Park on our way to Galgary and Banff.

What made you move to Billings? Have you gone through a winter season yet? I'd love to see that part of the country! Maybe someday!

Winters up here havent been bad that last few years(I think they say its global warming). Might have a couple weeks of really cold weather, other then that we can usually ride a couple times a month, if we really want to. Just have to wear leathers and watch for sand on the road. Its kinda nice to have the break in heat. they are saying mid 90s for the next week. that gets old fast.
