Just wondering if anyone knows whether side mount number plates are legal in Australia.

side mounted in the vertical form are deffinatly not ok ,but maybe a horizontal side mount may get away with it ,if that apeals to you

If it is not going to cost you a fortune I would give it a try and see what the boys in blue say. If we didnt do mods that are techinacally illegal all our bikes would be standard. IMHO for what it is worth.:2cents:

Ive had mine verticaly mounted for about 2 years now and ive only ever had one TOG cop pull me over and he didnt realy no him self, all he said was I think that it isnt legal, but I think he just wanted to have a look at my bike cause after that he keeped saying about all the spikes and points on the grips, foot pegs and mirrors not being legal along with how load it was but then just let me go...
