Anyone have Panoptx or any other padded sunglasses they would reccommend for riding to avoid beating the crap out of my eyes ??

I do have an Arai full face, I mean for the days when I want to use my
skull cap or 1/2 helmet.
Thanks

I'm on my third pair of Panoptyx. They're great. Just be careful that you don't bend them in the middle, as they snap here very easily. (Other two pairs snaped here and at the ear peice bracket.
For the cost, they are a cheap type of plastic, however, wind burn will be a thing of the past.
I also have the Willey X glasses. Nice fit, better quality, but not as effective in keeping wind off the eyes.

Best wishes.

Ken
panoptx 200%
I use Wiley's looking of an aircraft moving at 135 knots. They work well for me.
I use Guard-dogs (sidecars) and like them. They work very well even w/o the goggle clip on. I recently ordered Rx lenses for them (gettin old I guess).
Thanks guys ! I just ordered these from www.sportrx.com
They seem real cool. I got them w/ aluminum frames though with
my prescription.

The gel foam pops out and they put my prescription on those inserts.

I would have to agree with this. I had a pair less than six months, before they snapped near the hinge, basically rendering them useless. I'm pretty good generally with sunglasses - so I was a little shocked how my (almost) new pair of Panoptx broke with very little pressure in the wrong direction.

As far as windblast protection goes, they are excellent - but the combination of (relatively) high cost combined with fragile plastic makes it unlikely I'll buy another pair anytime soon.

Wiley-X and Panoptx

Just a reminder about Panoptx, they will replace them if they break. I have only seen two pair that actually broke; I've seen lenses get screwed up when they were cleaned improperly (on the inside where the anti-fog coating is). My main complaint is the foam "gasket" that seals out the air. It gets old and distorted after a while. They must be sent to Panoptx for lens or foam replacement.
The Wiley-X SG-1 that Fred mentioned is flexible and I would be very surprised to see one of those break. The seal will not absorb moisture and peripheral vision is very good. The price is reasonable at MSRP (not to mention my forum discount of 20% on Wiley-X) and parts (lenses are very cheap, when they need replacing) are easily obtainable.

I sell both brands and have worn both -- right now I like my SG-1's.

Shawn, I am not allowed to state prices to the "public". I just recently got a nasty phone call from Panoptx about it and I didn't like it. I have always been "straight up" in my business and it is the first time in 36 years in the profession Optometry that anyone has ever called me to say I was doing something that they wanted halted. :moon:

If you want prices just call my 800 number or email.
BTW: Shawn, you get special pricing since you did me a big favor.
Wish I knew that when I threw the other two sets out.
They both broke with well cared for use, ie, I don't abuse $260 AU glasses!
I'll keep it in mind if this pair break.
The foam did get a wave about it on the last set, and I do find the plastic digs in a bit on the nose. Still, I've not found a better pair of non goggle eye ware for the bike.

Best wishes everyone.

Ken.
I love mine, I have two sets and I agree with Gene about the foam. I sent mine back to Panoptx for the foam to be replaced:D:D.
