Free software available for most bikes now, including my Triumph and (I think, not had time to play) my KTM.

The Delphi module is common enough, has nobody done an interface yet? SEPST and MasterTune both absurdly expensive for such a simple thing...

i agree that the sert and mastertune is exspensive.. of course there was a lot of money and time spent to develop the software so they charge as much as the market will accept to make a profit.. there is available on line free software and plans to build an interface to tune hyabusa`s.. i wonder why somebody did that much work for no profit..

Normally because they wanted to tune and they didn't want to pay for the commercial software. The basic stuff to edit the tables SHOULDN'T be that much work, as far as I can see. More work than I want to do though.

Triumph stuff sitting on my PC, cable is a VW one. KTM stuff out there I understand, same cable I think. Only my Harley is being a pain. PCIII works fine, but is a bit of a kludge.

That is my open source project for programming Harleys. As you can see from the forums, there are not many people interested in DYI for Harleys. I dumped and disassembled the Harley code to figure it out. I've got a program to do full data logging as well. The only problem is I'm currently using off the shelf hardware which is somewhat expensive. I have a design for the hardware but I'm not a hardware guy so I haven't built it yet. You'd be surprised how simple and cheap this hardware actually is.

I probably wouldn't be surprised you know :)

Good to hear from you, I'll look into it with interest over the weekend - 1AM now!

I just registered on your forum, waiting on admin approval. I think this is a hell of an idea, I'd love access to the ECM without having to give Harley four hundred bucks for the privilege.

I looked for your request but I don't see it so I can't approve you. Can you try it again?

Never mind. It turns out I wasn't getting emails for the requests and there were a bunch of approvals waiting for me. Sorry about that.

I just signed up on the forum as well. It sounds like the project may need some hardware help. That is a part of my background as well.

It very much needs hardware help. I designed a schematic for the hardware, but since I'm not a hardware guy I haven't created a board and got it made. The hardware is really the only thing missing from making this project a cheap, full featured programmer.

This is great! I've never understood why the dealer couldn't adjust the map to remove the popping or cold rough spots (yes, I know...EPA). But, they can sell the SERT.
