Frogman WTF ! ? Total bummer !! but hopefully your hand isn't broken ! And yea heal up fast - wife fell over backwards playing tennis 2 weeks ago compression fracture of lt wrist required an operation, push rod to force wrist back out, T shaped plate and seven screws. Riding bud went over bars on his mountain bike and broke his rt hand a month ago - This shits going around so I'm being super careful !!
But yea Love the foothills parkway ridden it many times on my Triumph Triple and Street Rod, one & two up, fantastic cool down after doing the tail of the dragoon - Bike looks totally fixable thinking shorted wires blew fuses and rt engine off switch disabled things. New switch housing, Quick turn G2 throttle tube, grips, front brake master assy, possible just a fluid cover, mirror, new mufflers, etc and you're up and running. Do yourself a favor, my street rod got backed into with me sitting on it in a parking lot on the other side of the dragons tail - if the H-D dealer tells you 2 months to give you an estimate just write down all the NEW Cost parts needed, get that parts estimate, go to service dept. and ask for flat rate for R&R of the parts, bleed brakes, check front end fall away etc. - include new airbox cover cost and special paint $ 350 add it all up, add a $ 600 helmet and submit to insurance. Yes, it'll be a bit less than totaling it but you can get a few used parts and fix it yourself and end up with a few thousand left over. Worked for me ! Heal up Dude !! (y)

Yeah I am really never comfy on hard right as I am left. I guess it's a equilibrium thing. Get well soon.
Since we use the right lane here in the US I think its a combo of the sightline to oncoming traffic is much better in a left turn than a right turn, especially in the mountains where many times a terrain wall is on your right , rocks, gravel and wet leaves etc. can be laying on the road in a blind right so self preservation tells us to be wary and slow down. Other thing is it's more natural to have the front brake and throttle closer to your body in a right turn rather than farther away in a left. Every closed circuit M/C race I've ever been in has gone to the left - but take a left handed person, put throttle and front brake on the left and they'd probably feel better turning right - until the blind or restricted vision right turn, then they'd be more careful and slow down like us righties. Frogman - if you get stuck for a triple tree let me know I'll have the OEM aluminum stem coming off my bike soon since I bought a heavy ass steel stem with new bearings to install - I'll have an extra - but check if vintage parts has any more steel stem triple clamps available first. If so buy that and charge insurance co for a full price OEM Aluminum stem triple on the estimate. That's what H-D would do, and keep the difference. (y)
Yea, Vintage that's where I picked up the steel stem triple clamp for my R - and H-D bags bracket kit too - buy it asap if you can there not many left when I bought mine a few months ago - I got a new upper triple clamp also off ebay plus new bearings. Remember lower steel stem triple comes with the bearing cone, the race in steering head ( if not rusted ) could be left in there & reused, big PIA to get out if you don't have the tool, get one. Top probably needs replaced as well. Also - use your parts manual to get all the part #'s you need and use NEW price for the parts list. H-D dealer probably won't even take the bike in so it's up to you to build parts list and walk in and get labor estimate. When in doubt round up. If 0.00 in '06 R online H-D parts finder ( Ronnies or St. Charles H-D ) google part # and find old price or use new price on newer V Rods or other H-D's if still available. Once you get accident report submit with parts & labor to fix damage to insurance co. If you don't do this they may urge you to total the bike and slap a salvage title on it, just to avoid the hassle of fixing it and possible future handling issues, which is baloney. Tell them you want to keep the bike and fix it right up front and get the cost list together and to them asap, even before the accident report if possible. You don't want to start off again with another R, no telling what you'll end up with unless you find a cream puff but they are getting hard to find, I looked at every V Rod on Cycle trader recently, not one R but you might luck out - remember possible shipping cost. If you settle for a repair cost that's less than the current totaled value you'll end up with a couple to three grand extra in your pocket - I did. Best of Luck ! (y)

If you're talking about the G2 throttle tube it's less turn than a stock one which is about quarter turn - so more like a 7/32 of a turn - or a little less with the cables properly adjusted, so it's a quick turn throttle for a pretty powerful bike so watch out - if you snap it open on cold tires & road while leaned over you may end up breaking it loose and getting into a tank slapper - ask me how I know. Once you get used to it it's great, no two grab of the throttle for full power, it's much better & highly recommended IMHO(y)
