I know everybody hates lowering the R, but sadly I have to lower it just a little bit in order to maneuver in the driveway/parking lots/etc. I ordered one of the 1" lowering block kits for the rear, but my main question is: When people talk about moving the forks up in the triple tree to make the front match the rear, are they just removing the caps/covers on top and sliding the fork up and leaving the cap off? factory fork height setting is .070" from the front edge of the triple tree, which makes the cap fit tight in mine, so I would have to leave the cap off if i raised the forks at all.

I have the 1” blocks on mine, the front is stock. It rides fine, and easier to back up. I have a bad leg, but would try it even if I didn’t. They’re cheap enough.
I will put them on, and see how it looks and feels before i lower the front as well. That kind of feedback is good to hear, because i don't want to sacrifice ride quality either.

I put the 1.75" ones on from I believe Tamarack back in 2008 and they work great with no issues causing gas tank damage. They offered Chrome back then, not sure if they still do?? Ride may be even better than the OEM height and I am 5'9".

Well, we both reside in Maryville, TN......... we both own R models......... I have all three types of seats.......... I currently have the Corbin off the bike (going back on though) ......... if you want to stop by we can try it on your R and see if you like........... Yes, they're pricey and some complain that they are too firm
