I bought the V with 3800 on the odo. HD serviced it to sell on its floor. It's a bit past 6800, so I switched over to Amsoil today. 5 quarts?...that's 1/2 quart more than the Z takes. There was a tiny amount of metal on the magnetic plug. I was pleased it was so little.

The chromed filter shines frm the depths of its innards now. It seems to run a lot smoother too. Is that a placebo effect?

Thanks 02man98!!!

At 7000 miles, should I tackle the 5000 service or assume HD did it when they prepped the V?

I went from HD Syn to full Syn and noticed things smoother. As far as Temp difference etc.. I never experienced it.

You have already done the hard part of the 5000 mile service. The rest is just some inspections and small lube items.

Glad you like that fancy chrome filter. :D
