I just installed the Siren II alarm + pager. That worked great with the instructions posted in the how-to on this forum (the instructions that came with it are absolutely wrong.) The Siren works when I lift the bike without the fob, and also pages me. However,...

Question: I cannot get the chirp feature to work on the bike. When I arm and disarm and arm in quick succession, it does not turn the chirp on the way it says it should.

Now I'm wondering if the siren screwed the alarm or it's installed incorrectly..? :banghead:

RedHot,

To enable the chirp feature, those instructions are in the small user manual that came with the bike. If I remember, I believe it was turn ign on, wait for key icon to go away, then turn off, after the binkers does the 2 blink thing, turn on again (wait for key icon to go away) then off, after 2 blinks again, turn on. This is how to enable or disable the chirp. Good Luck.

I had the security system when I bought the bike...but no siren. I bought it the other day, pugged it in and drove it around to charge the Battery. It did'nt charge, went back and read the instructions, it said that the batterys that stand idol at the dealership might go bad. So went to Radio Shack and got a new Rechargable battery and still no luck...can't get it to chirp...can't get it to alarm.

My alarm worked right away - but I still cannot get the chirp turned on! Sighhhh..... maybe will take it to the dealer and see how they do it.

Anyways, just a reminder that if you have the fob nearby it the alarm will not go off. I don't believe the alarm has to be charged to go off, only connected to the bike battery.

Mine took longer than the 4 hour charge time. Chirp worked after about 1 week of cruising (clocked about 350 miles), then I went to disable chirp feature, then enable chirp feature. Viola, has been working fine.
