Bill... those parts look great sprayed black... what did you use? how did you prep? They look as good as any powdercoat job from the pics!

The brake lines look smooth too!

Prep is the hard part! I stripped all the Not-to-be-painted parts off and disassembled the cluster. I sanded each part with 400 grit (to knock down any imperfections) and for paint adheasion. Then I hit it with PPG primer, PPG Jet Black base, and 3 coats of clear. Being this is a small part and to save alot of time and $$ maybe you could use Dupli Color? :2cents: The primer and base go quick from start (tear down) to finish (dry base) about 2.5 hrs. Clear coat, the rest of the day, plus wet sanding in between. I did this over a year ago and it still looks great :thumb:

Thought I'd revive a thread I started 4 years ago. Think I'm almost finished with adding "moe" black to my "B". :D

I thought about that... But ya know what? The silver heads are what separates B's from everything else. I've had a few people call my bike a NightRod or a DX, but I tell em' "nope, it's a VRSCB, see the silver". Had one fella argue with me that I didn't know what my own bike was. :spank:

Is that a D? DX? AW? Nope. A B
(or a Nick-B-Bod modified wannabe B  )
