Im with you on adding black. Mine is custom painted.......black with marblized silver and violet and i have had my clamshell and headlight painted black as well as my hand controls. Thought about Chroming the hand controls but after its all done I like how the Black looks better. I went with a Gloss black on the hand controls had them painted rather than buying the stock HD flat black ones. Im also thinking of painting the stock brake calipers black too! ..........time will tell!

Those look sweet! what were your costs? Sounds like you paid for mirrors AND end plugs?
The better question is... how do they work? Better, worse, or no change from stock mirrors? I am sick of seeing my elbows in my mirrors!

Johnny, the mirrors set me back $200, and the barend plugs I designed and had them made, free. It is nice to have a machinist connection. :thumb:
How do they work? They are smaller, but they also stick out farther. So there is less in the mirror, but they clear my elbows. :stooge:

I have a black 'B' and after staring at it for weeks I must say I am pissed with Harley Davidson! They really should have painted the riser clamshell and headlight black. they are the only silver pieces on the bike. everything else is black or chrome or polished. It's cool, someday my forks, tripple trees, headlight, and risers will all find black paint on them. and yes I will post some pics!

Bill... those parts look great sprayed black... what did you use? how did you prep? They look as good as any powdercoat job from the pics!

The brake lines look smooth too!

i have powdercoated black b model engine with black wrinkle on the heads and engine cover and reassembled with all chrome bolts i should have it back by this weekend and i will post pics. i have also powdercoated with gloss black my lower legs, triple trees, swingarm, forward controls, headlight brow, risers, axel covers, pivot bolt covers. i just dont know about painting the heads not sure if it will last with the heat.
