Odds are the person he spoke with has only had a phone call from whoever they sent to the dealer show and is only quoting what they heard. It's gonna take a week or so for them to get all the information disseminated and if the ABS option was not disclosed on their pre-order package last month you may not see that option in the dealerships intil their second batch of bikes ship.
The problem with ABS being optional is many people are going to find the bike they want only to discover it doesn't have (or does, depending on their wants) ABS. It will suck to find the perfect color combo but have to pass because it's not optioned correctly.
I wonder if anyone could dig up the percentage of bikes being shipped with ABS? (hint hint Turk, Ray, Tyson......)
