I know the diference is only 1 tooth but I'm making the purchase soon and want to hear your opinions....

I WANT the loss is weight 2 lbs (OEM HD is out of the question)
I Do NOT want axle extenders as I feel this is less desireable
I want OEM fitment
I want maximum performance without overreving on the HWy
I assume a different belt may need to be used from a 2004? to keep things tight

Speedo correctiion is NOT an issue as I never look at it
The HD down load is only for speedo correction?? right

I have a Dl from HD for the Screamin eagle and hi flow which is criminal rape $400

If you want OEM fitments buy the OEM part! (sorry, couldn't resist)
The 2lbs means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for HP or performance. The weight is too close the the centerline and moving too slow.
You aren't going to over rev a 9000 rpm motor going from 4200 - 4500 rpm at cruise.
The 149 tooth belt is $217 but will be required to keep the stock tension adjustment with the 28T pulley, regardless of manufacturer.

Hopefully you meant $400 Canadian Installed and even that's ridiculous, the flash can be bought from numerous mail order dealers for $120 US with no more than 1/2 installation time by your dealer. I didn't think the Canadian dollar had gone that far south ;)

You can't have everything! IMO, the 29T doesn't offer enough of a performance increase to justify the cost. The 28T will increase performance dramatically at low speeds. You will however be revving more on the HWY (+7%). I would suggest the TurboTec 28T pulley because you can always go back to the 30T if you want to, something not accomplished so easily with the HD kit. As for the axle extenders, I didn't need them and most don't. As far as the weight is concerned (2.5lbs), I basically agree with Mark, but 2.5 lbs is 2.5 lbs any way you slice it.

The Turbo Tec is the easy way to go but the HD kit can be installed in only an hour or so. You get the benefit of a proper length belt and can use the old 150 tooth belt for a backup. all at about the same price.
