I'm trying to resolve a question regarding this year of DX.

The dealer is telling me that the engine in this year is the 1250. However, the Wiki I've been reading is telling me that it is the 1130 in 2007.

Can someone please help me clarify? Reason I'm asking is that it will impact my insurance.

Thanks!

Don't let these guys fool you it's not that much slower. Welcome we are here to help. Don't worry before long you will be trying to check on parts for a big bore and just tell insurance company it's the stock 1130.

It can depend on the manufacture date.My 08 model was made in September 07 and is stamped 09-07 but it is an 08 Model (1250).

The dealer should know better. They cant be very good, if they are telling you all the wrong facts.-----(go somewhere else!)

Yeah Funny that but I bet your insurance company recognises it as an 08. All it really does is make it hard if you ever decide to sell, the uneducated will see your rego sticker and say it is an 07 model, not that it will ever worry me no way I am selling this.

I've owned both and prefer the 07 DX (but love all VRods) they didn't continue the Vivid Black with Denim racing stripes in the years after 07 or the 1130 engine. There is bugger all difference in performance IMO, I believe the 07 to be a smoother accelerating bike.
The SE Vrods had the 1250 engine in that year.

Lucky you to have such a great bike.

Damn! That's my birthday.

Yeah RTA, bikesales.com.au and apparently even H-D Australia were convinced that 2007 DX's were all 1250cc bikes. I tried telling this to Bikesales a few years ago that there was a VRSCDX 1130 as they had no provision in their listings, they didn't believe me so they rang Harley-Davidson Australia where they allegedly set the record straight that the 2007 DX was in fact a 1250cc, funny they slipped in the VRSCDX 1130cc some time later.
What would i know I'm just a dumbass chick who bought it brand new in 2007 as an 1130.:chair:

If the seventh digit of your vin # is a Z it's an 1130CC.

These confused reps may be confusing the 2007 "DX" with the 2007 "X". The "X" has a 1250 and is the only 2007 bike to have same.
Don't be to hard on the ignorant. Not everyone at a dealership will know everything about the bikes they sell.
