I scored a great deal on a CVO Screaming eagle VRSCSE as the group is. My question is . Since its a 1250 SE engine 2005 . I think the 1250 cc didnt come standard until a year later .SOOOO as a SE engine / head stamp what is different about this engine? higher compression? bigger cams? most I can find is that its C&C ported . I dont want to break the seal especially if it already has the " Stage 2 cams" it in it. it was tuned from a previous owner with the D&D exhaust but thats all the information I can find

H-D basically increased the bore and displacement 116cc from 1131 to 1247 and took the 1130 heads and had an outside company CNC port them to open them up for more airflow to match the increased displacement, the intake cam timing was optimized to give more mid range torque but it does not have Screaming Eagle stage 2 cams in it. I personally would not put them in it, they are reground stock cams and the base circle is smaller so harder on valve components. If you want to put performance cams in it use a full base circle cam like Jones or Fitzgerald. If you find yourself hitting the rev limiter all the time now and want more power go for the cams - if not just twist the throttle more the stock S/E engine pulls and runs great just the way it is, 6-9 grand is where the power is - the cams might give you another 8 -12 Hp but more at high Rpm and at quite a cost to do it right with springs, retainers, engine disassembly etc. With that D & D pipe if it's tuned right - it should run excellent as is - and you have OEM reliability (y)
