is the 08 up belt longer than 07 down...i have a dx swingarm im swapping on my 06 and i guess i need to order the 08 up belt instead of the 06 SE belt...thanks

It’s kind of hard to answer your question because the switch to the longer swingarms and belts occurred in 2007 for all models except the VRSCR.

However, the 2008 swingarms are longer than all the 2006 swingarms so, if you’re putting a 2008 swingarm on a 2006 VRSC, you’ll need either the 40144-07 (151T belt used with a 28T front sprocket) or a 40145-07 (152T belt used with the 30T sprockets).

These belts are 2 teeth longer than the previous belts moving the rear wheel back about 14 mm (0.55").
