02 VRSCA Coolant is Green?

Hey everyone, I noticed my coolant level is very low, and I am wondering if I should just flush it out or top it off.

Problem is, I have no idea what coolant is in this bike right now because it is a rebuild and it's 16 years old. Previous owner has no information on what was in it. All the posts on the caps breaking off makes me reluctant to do a flush, and after looking at the tube on the overflow bottle, the stuff looks pretty clean but it is light green in color.

The HD stuff I thought was orange/red.

I don't know if there is a sure way to test it/figure out what it is and I read that mixing could cause some serious woes. Might give it a sip and see if I can sample some at AutoZone :D

Any ideas?

Do a color code search on antifreeze and pretty sure you will be dumping the green. I'd do a flush and use the stuff rated for these aluminum engines. Green uses different additives and some even contain silicates.

In the gold bottle. I found it at Wal*Mart/ Murphy Oil.

I use the Mercedes coolant in my Porsche's, which is just re-labelled Zerex G-05. I have a friend who is able to get me the Mercedes labelled stuff cheaper than store bought Zerex.

When I get around to doing a coolant flush on my bike, this is what I'll probably use so it matches the cars.
