Perfect, ok, so JUST get these "SE Heads" and the cams, and that will help a little, moderately, or significantly?

Also, where would I get "SE heads?" Of course, if i'm going to crack the motor, I might as well get the 58mm TB too. Any idea where to get that as well, and with the 3 combo what difference I could be looking at?

All please be aware that 06 and later V-rods have the new high flow heads...so dont change the 06 and later to S.E heads, they are the same! the 05 VRSCSE is the only V-rod besides Destroyer that has CNC ported heads..
Another thing is the t-body is better for performance than the heads unless using destroyer heads and have a set of street grind cams made to work...
remember the Destroyer valves are longer due to differtant base circle and cams from a V-rod cannot be used in Detrsoyer unless you know what you are doing.

Neo it seems VR Master answered your question, I wasn't aware that all 06's had the higher flow heads already. Thanks for the information.

So I don't need the heads (that's a relief, i'd been eyeing heads before, almost bought a set on Ebay), so if I go with these cams and the 58mm TB, what should I expect? Also, where does one get 58mm TB's?

You can get the 58 mm TB by having yours bored (I think V-Mod does this, Zippers definitely does) and Hal's HD in Wisconsin has a good setup also.

Zippers, chopper steve and probably a half dozen other places offer the 58mm throttle body.

I don't like to get into guessing HP as I really can't say. If you go with the 440/440 set of cams and do a 58mm throttle body and combine with an RT and good tune your probably going to net a 7-10% increase in HP with the right pipes but thats just a guess. To me the numbers don't mean nearly as much as what I feel with seat of the pants. I want a bike that behaves well and offers good torque in the midrange and excellent acceleration when I get on it. So I guess you could say I want it all. :)

Max,
Will these be available through the forum store, then? When?

I have been speaking with Mike Jones at Jones cam designs for the last couple of weeks and think we can help the forum and the members at the same time. Mike has been producing new cams for the v-rod for several years for other companies but was looking to key in on the v-rod market so our alliance is the perfect match. It will allow us to bring the forum members new cams that are far superior in strength to the factory cams and at the same price as the re-gound cams.

Advantage in these are they are hardened billet cams. We are going to be offering several different packages from a mild upgrade using stock springs and retainers to all out racing. We will also be the first that I am aware of to carry a turbo specific cam for the v-rod. Here is a list of what will be available.

Standard V-Rod packages

Like I say pricing will be approx 60% of what new cams now cost you or almost the exact same price as the re-grounds run but you will have no down time and still have your old cams. These do not have compression release on them. If a compression release is needed for a very high compression engine we can get you a compression release for the head.

Thanks

Max

I hope they have a better response now. I tried to get info on their cams last year to purchase a set & they wouldn't return emails or calls???
Just a guess but I do know that they are not interested in direct marketing and that was the reason the partnership between Jones and the forum should work well. It may have been why you had trouble. I know that my communication with Mike has been first class.

They will be in the store before the end of the week. I am working on the ads to go in the store as I get a few minutes.

Max - will you also be carrying the aftermarket springs, retainers and keepers?

The springs and retainers will be available but I don't have any prices on those yet. I was just excited that we could help the forum and the members at the same time.

Hey Max, you got me so excited that I just ordered the SE heads from Hales for a project down the road. I can see these cams are going to come in handy :D

.
can someone confirm or deny this statement

I wonder about that statement also. I was on Hals HD performance section and check this out: http://www.halspa.com/default.asp?P=10

It clearly says due to stock manufacturing changes '06 & '07 models show less output on HP & Torque.
