I use the Harley Cleaner - works great. I think its actually called Gloss Black cleaner. It is recommended in the manual.

He's referring to Harley Gloss. :thumb:

Amonia will cut grease pretty good, thats why they say that. If the HD manual says to use it, i'd give it a try. I have used a glass cleaner a couple times, Windex I think, but usually use the Harley Gloss Cleaner.

What I really like about the denim is that they will all look different over time. Unlike a shiny finish that you can just keep on waxing the denim will get it's own characteristic after a while.
On my former "D" I only cared about washing the dirt away, and for that any washing up liquid and water will suffice, but it's the nature of a denim paint to get that wear and tear look. If you wanted to keep it clean of smudges, fingerprints and small scratches you picked the wrong colour imho.
Besides, I've always had the mind set of that the paint job or finish doesn't make the bike go faster, that's why I've never liked chrome, too much hassle for no apparent advantage.
So what about looks you ask? It's a DX period!

Dawn works great I use it, all detailers recommend it for the initial wash before anything, then claybar, then wax.
