I heard awile back that Harley Davidson recognized AMSOIL and stated that using it did not void warranty. Anyone else hear this and more importantly have proof?

Changed mine today, I have been using Amsoil since 10K miles and this is my 3rd change since switching. I had about 5500 miles on the oil and filter.

Let it get broke-in good before going to a full synthic.

What is "broke-in good?" Also, what are guys using for an oil filter. Is Harley the only option? There must be a good quality replacement for a fraction of the price.
My definition for broke-in good was when it stopped using oil. Amsoil makes a filter for the VROD and I use their filter. :notworth:

Warranty Issues

About the Harley warranty.

Check out the link on my website that has a letter directly from Harley about using a different brand oil and the implications it has on the warranty. On my homepage if you look down the right side there is a latest news section on the link is in that section. www.modernoils.com

Ken

I could not find the link to the letter, there is not a latest news section (?)
Anyone else find it?

Question about filters, what is the part-number for a Mobil and K&N oil filter? I feel as these are good filters and would like to do my own oil change next time. As for oil, my personal choices are Mobil and Royal Purple and of course Amsoil. If I could get Amsoil easier I would use it. I can get Mobil and Royal Purple at the local auto parts store.

The K&N part number is KN-174C and the last time I checked Mobil did not have a V-Rod filter.

About getting AMSOIL... It does not get any easier to purchase oil and filters than AMSOIL. Oil and filters delivered to whatever address you would like in about 3-4 days. Pricing is usually less as well even with shipping since I do AMSOIL at my cost for forum members. Just my 2cents.

Anyone going to use any Amsoil products, definatly give ken a call. He takes care of all the forum members with pricing breaks on everything Amsoil makes. Plus he is on the ball with shipping too. Thanks Ken for all you do to support us, its very much appreciated.

Ken is awesome, just give him a call or click on his website on front page.

I live a little too far away to give Ken a call , however I rang my local dealer "Ron Lawson" on the Sunshine coast here in Australia (300km away) and ordered oil and filter off him which he is dispatching today and I should have it tomorrow , cost is a couple of $$ less than "Mobil 1 V twin" per quart and the filter is about 5 bucks cheaper than the HD item , freight was halved and cost me $6 - so good service from Amsoil is not restricted to the US , I will start testing the product next week .:moped:
