To all V Rod folks, I am thinking of installing a Power Commander V interface. Now I have enjoyed the crisp acceleration I have installed Tab Motors Billet Air Intake. What a much Improved throttle response. Am I approaching the limit of this 1250 machine or is there room for Improvement with this addition.
Research indicates that the only power improvement takes place above 6000 revs. One Question I have is do I have to Add and Pair the Ignition Module with the PCV.

I am mostly concerned with improving, the initial rough Idle that is present when cold start, last for approximately 90 seconds. I am certain install is straightforward. I have enjoyed my V Rod for two years and I very much enjoy the performance both Local and Highway Rocket speeds. To this day over 2000 miles, there is not one drop of oil anywhere. looking forward to hearing from you guys good and bad.

Enjoy the Fall riding season

No, you don't need the ignition module. As for your 90 second give or take depending on temps, this is on the warmup table of the calibration. It adds fuel to the VE tables at idle and the table slowly counts down to 0. This happens on each startup, cold and hot, just less fuel and time when hot. Quite possible the idle area in the cal is lean and the cold start tables not quite rich enough. A PCV or the current PC6 and a suitable cal can add extra fuel via the PCV map. I seldom muck with the warmup tables themselves although the PCV does have a table to modify that also but the main issue is the ve table at idle. Best to address that then mask the main problem altering the warmup table amounts.

Thank you for in depth view, of the fuel management system. I wanted to match the ECM performance Map with the additions I have installed. The Air box has given this bike better top end response. Having bought this second hand it was well taken care of. I appreciate your explaining the many different possibilities in the ECM. I intend to tread lightly properly installing it first. read some values and then consider fuel mixture ECM downloads.
Its going to help me more than anything just to learn how to play with this Laptop interface. Power Commander helped me with my old EVO 1340 Magnetti Morelli system.

Worst part of the PC is stuffing it into that confined space. As for tweaking it, you can start with a zero value map, that you create and save. Then add fuel trims to what tps/rpm range you like or need. Obviously several of the available DJ cals can be tried also for the best result. It's not a requirement to match a cal based on your exhaust/ breather and so on. Another might work better even though your equipment is different. MM you say? Been a few years since I've dialed one of those in. Most got fed up and converted to carbs.

UPDATE: As of this writing I have installed the Power Commander No. V, pretty smooth install. After Registration I filled out a request form to the Dynojet Co. explaining my options, they sent me two maps. I installed one I had to fatten some of the cells in the Mid Range Section 3200 - 4500. I have benefited top end performance so far and have enriched those cells. So Far there has been an outstanding improvement at Highway Speed Top End. GAS MPG after initial 130 miles driving about 34.8 MPG. The Bike Loves Gasoline but its not running lean anymore
Thank You Everyone
