I just know this is going to be the best summer and riding season yet!

......yeah, I can feel it too! More local members signing on and chewing up the ashphalt with us..... it's too cool!

I have several buddies I ride with, but it seems like I have to beg them or play phone fricken tag to try to arrange a group ride.... this Forum allows us 24/7 communication, and whoever can make the ride shows up, no begging!:thumb:

More and MORE

I had a double V-Rod sighting last Thursday or Friday. M-59 between Milford Rd. and Duck Lake Rd., I come up on a guy\girl team riding a pair of V's. He was on a B with skins that looked like Bill's, and she was on an 03 Anniversary anodized. Gave em a big thumbs up as I pulled alongside, but I was in a hurry so I kept on going. Anybody have any idea if they're Forum Hip yet?

I also rode down to Franks Nursery for the respect ride, but everyone was pulling out as I was pulling in, so I looked for Rox, Turk, Bill and Johnny and didn't see them then kept on riding. Looks like I missed a call from the Turkmeister too. Sorry guys, I woulda loved to hook up.

We saw you! The guys recognized your mirrored visor;)

What was the idea of just riding by?:sinister: Believe me it was hard for us to just stand by with no protesters to turn our backs to on such a nice day to ride, but we were there for the family, and we got a few miles in afterwards....;)

I love that mirrored visor. Being a lone wolf on a V-rod though, passing all those airheads who were staring at me didn't give me much of an appetite for stopping and hunting for my V-Brothers. They think I'm not looking at them through that mirror, but I was watching their smug envious faces. I didn't see my friends in the crowd, and you know how it goes, it didn't look like many new ones either. Must be that NOEVO plate.. :sinister:

For those planning on going to the 06 KC Rally....

Hey guys, two things:

First, I just made my reservations at the Best Western (Platte City); It is not completely booked yet, as someone had indicated in the Rally thread, so before I go and post there, I decided to let my fellow D-Town v-rodders know first, so that you can have a small headstart on making any reservations.

Second, I know it's still a bit early, but I looked at the schedule and noticed that the KC Royals will be receiving no other than our own Detroit Tigers that weekend, and according to Max, Friday night is open without any rally related activities scheduled, so I'm thinking of going to the ball game Friday night (9/22). Anyone else interested?

Ticket prices? Distance? Looks like those shirts that Roxxley-Rockets was considering are going to be mandatory....

Good taste.... If he was running Reactor wheels, it might have been the guy from Dearborn.

Marcos,

I love the idea of catching a Tiger's game out of town, but have 2 questions:
1. Would we be missing campfire, beers, and stories back at Basswood? You and Johnny have been there before, so I'd look to you for guidance on how our time is best spent on Friday.
2. Would there be safe secure parking for our babies at the stadium?

Thanks for keeping us in mind!

I like to treat my cousin Julie and her family to a meal while I'm in town, but this year a ballgame would be even better! I'll call her to see if they are open Friday night.... as far as mssing out on stuff, I wouldn't woory too much, the few hours we'd be away from the heard we'll miss very little, like a few bar hops or something like that....besides, if we have a larg enough group for the ballgame, we'll be having our own fun!

Last year when I rode in from I-70 I could see the stadium from the highway, I'd guess it's no more than 20-25 miles from Basswood.

As for ticket prices, its the Royals, they practically give 'em away! At last year's rally they were getting beat up by my Indians, but I didn't make it to any of the games... maybe this year!

Yep, tickets are inexpensive. They range from $7 to $27; and I agree, the stadium is about 30 miles from Basswood. We will actually pass by the stadium on the way to the track on Thursday evening if we take I-70.

Steve, I agree with Johnny, we won't really miss much by breaking away for a while on Friday night, plus the game should end around 10PM, just in time to do some bar hopping or go back to basswood and BS with the part of the group that usually stays there drinking and talking.
As far as parking security goes, I'll have to ask the Virginia guys since I know a group of them went to a game last year. I'll send a PM to a couple of those guys and get their impressions. I'll also get the opinion of a couple of the KC locals.

As far as the yet-to-be determined Old English "D" Tiger Jerseys go, I call dibs on #24 with BECKER on the back:deal:

Ok,

Looks like the word is out... I was trying to hold off until I had all the details finalized, but I am trying to work-out some very special Detroit Area Jersey's for us. In particular, I thought it would be cool to roll-up in KC representing Detroit in style, but this would also work anytime a bunch of us get together.

I had in mind to get some Old English D Tiger's Jerseys made up with our screen names on back (or other if you prefer), your choice of number, and a small V-Rod patch on the right hand sleeve. I have already bought up 4 of the small V-Rod patches and am looking for more. I cleaned out MC Leatherworks. Let me know if you have any suggestions for other sources.

A buddy of mine owns a sporting goods store (Fanatic U) and is going to cut us the best deal he can on the whole thing. He is even checking to see what can be done about getting this jersey done in black & white. If Black and White doesn't work out, we may have to settle for the typical white home jersey, or the grey with orange and blue letters away jersey, or the dark blue with white practice jersey.

As for the all important choice of numbers - I have dibs on "03", Turk has "04", HoldHard has "7", Hotfoot has "24", and RoadPilot has "69".

Stay tuned for more details as they are forthcoming. Now that I'm in the spotlight on this, I'll try to have the details finalized by this weekend!

Cool idea Steve! I'll take #13 with "Mora" on the back.
I remember Wolverine HD had several small V-rod patches last fall. I'll give them a call and find out if they still have any.

Patches

I checked at Brighton HD, Capitol HD, ABC HD, and Cummings HD. No one of them had V-Rod Patches Dam Sumbitches had every patch ever made and no V-Rod patches. I will look on line later to night to see if I can find some at a reasonable price.

Had a great time Saturday riding with you guys. I got a little wet late in the afternoon but heck it's only water and I'm not going to melt.
