When they build a touring version of the VRSC it will have the range, until then I'm perfectly happy blasting down the road, 100 miles at a time

Cuz everything Harley is more expensive than it should be.

And it will always be so as long as we continue to pay these prices.

I don't think Rick has made any yet...

He probably had the photo put up in the knowledge we'd all go a bit crazy, so he could judge the feedback and response before going into production.

I won't pay more than £250 for the 5 gallon tank. I'll use an aux one on longer journeys.

FWIW: When I was in Daytona for bike week and talking to the guys from Zeel and Breathless I was left with the impression that Zeel and Rick's are in on this project together. Just my :2cents:

I called Rick today, his shop is closed on Mondays. The price I told is correct. But for export in non EU countries it's without the 16% VAT, so the price is EUR 862.--, that's aproximately $ 1050.--.

Yea...so nobody asked me about this one....I live a few miles from Ricks...Just talked to him. I can get a good deal on a group buy...just PM me if you are for sure and I will get them together...but don't ask me how or I will have to kill you

862 euro is the price without tax...if you order from the states then you will be paying import and sales tax when the box gets to your door...plus international shipping charges... I can hook you up and keep the price under a grand...

Let's see, at that price I'll bet he sells less than 20 world wide! That's about a ridiculous as the $1800 exhaust pipes and $1000 fenders. But hey, there are suckers born every minute.

Well, I'm used to paying a lot for V-stuff but 1000+ for a tank is steep........
Zeel's tank is starting to look like a deal...
and a jerry can is lookin like a topless blonde from this angle...

I am with you all...I just wanted to help. I think I may have been misunderstood in my post.

The tank will cost a German € 999. At today’s conversion rate $ = 0.0835 € 999 € is $ 1243.31 dollars. If he sells to a US customer, they will waive the 16% tax and sell at €862 ($1072.80) Rick’s will charge you €150 ($186.68) for the shipping to the US, for a grand total of $ 1259.48. Then you have to consider import tax that US customs will assess. I don’t know what that will be...

All that said, he will give a discount for multiple purchases and I can mail them for a lot less and there will be no import charges. (Don’t ask or the killing starts

) With the discount price and the mail it will be $980.00

This is still an outrageous price for a gallon and a half...but what a cool thing to have. He said anyone with a screwdriver license can install it and there is no modification needed. Just a bracket extension and switch all existing hardware over. If you are the only V in a group with the tank you will be still stopping just as often so what is the advantage?
