BAck on two wheels

So off we go on the Old Pacific Coast Highway. Liam on his VRod and his friend Ian on a Sportster - escort me on a long ride through the mountains...... constantly keeping a watchful eye.... it was great.... but every time we stop - Liam continues to smile and as other come to look over our bikes he introduces me as a friend from the US, that rides Harleys back home and even races them - and that I picked the thing up as transportation..... I on the other hand am just enjoying the adventure.... Here's a few pics...... I know - its not a Harley:driving:

Having a great time

I am actually having a great time - getting around - the little red sled can actually get you places - and I have been darting aroud the city and country side - often patiently escorted by Liam on his VRod - the story is about friendship, enjoying travel and adventure and just having fun..... :biker: Damn, I know that Destroyer has arrived - Oh well RickN has been calling me SloPoke for years now:moped: and I am still smiling my way around town - enjoying great hospitality and new friends! fun!:ride: :moped: :driving: :driving: :driving: :driving: :moped: Now if I could just figure out the shipping and handling - I could already own a stylish Italian Ferarri Red pit bike to keep the Destroyer with some freidly company;)

Kev, fun riding on the "other " side eh? Its when you get a long day or 2, or perhaps a few 'tinnies" below your belt that things can become rahter frightening if you go that route.

I found out early on that there is no mercy in traffic anywhere, its like the bloody buggas are out to run you over.

If that scoot can get you to 65-70 MPH, go for the Blue Mountains!!

I am jealous you dog you!

I suspect Kevin has NOS bottle in the muffler of the Aprilla (its bigger than the V-rod's muffler) and I'll be smoked when we get to the Blue Mountains.
:driving: :coff:   You know better than that Liam..... when you passed me the other day it was like a 747 going by..... but it is a big muffler - ya know the Winter Nationals are next week at Eastern Creek - I did some research on the web.......

I saw 110kph on the speedometer one day...... :biker: I think - it gets a bit blurry at those speeds - Liam insisted that I was not going anywhere near that - :driving: so it may be a bit of a Happy Speedometer - but you get into some bumps and it feels like 110....... I think it tops out about 60..... maybe 65 with a tailwind, going down hill, in a ful tuck with a competent drafting technique......... Kevin

Just spotted this thread, what a dummy. Good to see you enjoying Australia Kevin. How about the Harbour views that the Giraffes get at Taronga Park Zoo hey? Must be a rent control enclosure that one. I have been there about 5 times since I was 5 years old. Fantastic place.

I don't know what your plans are, but if they include a trip to Southeast Queensland, look me up mate. 0409 529937. Virgin will fly you up and back for about $250 Aussie, and you can take my bike for a spin. I only have one, but if you want to ride around the South East corner, and ask Rich, it is beautiful, there is a bike up here for you to do it on. You won't have a guide, but I'm sure you can handle a map. :ride:

Look forward to meeting you Ozzy - I like the scooter and the boat is not bad either (i.e. understatement) ..... Are you interested in going to Eastern Creek for the summer nationlas - Liam and I are working up a plan..... I made it to Eastern Creek today on the red sled - a trial run for next weekend - I couldn't talk my way in - as it was closed - but got to know the scoop on the locals and met a couple of the guys that work there....... now just need to find me a sponsor (Tom at Blacktown HD......... hope you might be interested in a guest joining your team) for a couple events..... boat ride invitation is intriguing....... Liam is good contact info - I am running to wollongong til Wed or THu then back to Syd.
