First, I just want to get it out there: I know there are better fuel tuners, so please don't turn this thread into a lecture experience on all the other systems that are available.

My son bought the Fuelpak for me as birthday gift so I'm trying to make it work.

Here are my particulars:
2013 VRSCF Muscle, K&N Filter (top 'on'), V&H Comp slip-ons.
Fuelpak Model #61021

Tried running the provided map #4690 with the following results:

1. Black, sooty smoke under hard acceleration (witnessed by my riding friends)
2. Sooty build-up on baffles of both cylinders
3. Cruising at part throttle on or around 4K RPMs, bike will occasionally sputter and backfire (not to be confused with a lean pop)
4. Bike accelerates hard through to redline without hesitation (except for the black smoke mentioned above)
5. Bike stumbles, hesitates, sputters on or around 5-5.5K RPMs in any gear.
6. Starts/idles fine
7. Throttle response at low speeds is very abrupt - it acts more like an on/off switch at low speeds/low RPMs.

I already know all of this means it's running rich. I've been on bikes for 37 years (and do I 'know' carburetors!).

I've been in contact with V&H and they provided me the following adjustments to Map 4690 (I haven't had a chance to try these new settings out yet):

(First number is the Mode #; Second value is the Setting)
1:6
2:5
8:15
9:8
10:10
11:16
15:18
25:12
26:15

My location is near sea-level and daytime temperatures run anywhere from 40-90F (5-40C) throughout my riding season.

I am calling out to other members with this same set-up and especially those who encountered some of the same symptoms as me. If you received or otherwise modified this base map on this model based on your own experimentation or V&H technical help, could you chime in please.

I'm a bit frustrated as the bike is more ride-able with the OEM filter installed and no Fuelpak (i.e. factory 'lean' with just the slip-ons!).

My thanks for any of your time taken to reply.

(Just an FYI, I'm away from the bike on business for the next couple of weeks so I won't get a chance to field test anything provided to me until then).

I've been having the same symptoms that you have listed and seems like several others have also. I havent had a chance to call V&H but I did just make those changes to my Fuelpak and my 4k sputter/misfire seems to be gone. I also tried some settings from another post that also got rid of the sputter.

This is what I have for values from 1-20 some are changed some are standard after 20 it is all base values for map 4690.

6,8,4,4,12,7,6,23,15,20,23,27,7,0,25,2,15,23,17,2

This was working with V&H and my own tinkering found that modes 10-13 where the issue after all the other values they gave me to get rid of other issues that their values had fixed. I hope it helps you guys out, have ran it in these settings for the last few month of riding last year with no issues at all. Then Minnesota happened again and the bike is sitting.

Thanks for this. I had seen the CraigsFL thread but didn't try his numbers.

Did I read correctly that you tried the V&H update I provided and that it got rid of the 4K behavior?

For me the crap at 5-5.5K was worse and the soot and smoke wasn't desirable either. Have you found some hybrid solution between CraigsFL and my numbers that improve all of the undesirable symptoms?

The numbers you have posted I have programmed in my fuelpak right now and it did eliminate my misfire at 4k. I only used those other numbers for a quick test ride. I'm going to try the ones you have posted for a few days before I make anymore changes. I'm going to clean the soot off my baffles and keep an eye on them.

Thanks for the replies !

For 1250cc are you running same Fuelpak model?

For Muscle13, any test feedback would be excellent.

No and when I called V&h this just asked what map didn't ask the year.. It does run better with this settings easier to ride at low riding through town speeds..

Guy's I'm running the V&H fuel pac on my 2013 vrscdx ,don't know if your muscle is the same or not but I have a good set up for the V&H fuel pac for the V&H 2 into 1 and K&N air filter.

Thanks for the reply - is yours a numbered map from V&H or is it both numbered and modified?

I'd like to know your numbers if you don't mind the trouble of sharing. PM if you prefer.

I've got slip-ons but I still would like to compare maps. I do completely understand this is an apples/oranges proposition!

No rush here so whenever its convenient for you.

Thank you again.

2013 NRS k&n filter with top on and V&h comp series 2 into1. I am also running the fuel pack and it's terrible black soot on my baffles popping/stumbles. V&h gave me a few values to enter none have cleared up my issues and they have stopped responding
If anyone can share values that work it would be great

Thanks for all the replies thus far. I've been trying to 'crack the code' on these things and all I can say is that I'm pretty frustrated right now. The V&H advisory numbers last given to me (in the quote just above) didn't clear up much of the problems I described in my original post (in fact, it created new ones).

Watch the classifieds soon if you want to see a heavily discounted Fuelpak or so I'm thinking right now.
