Hey Everyone! I really need some help. I am doing a project on the V-rod and I need some assistance. I need to know why people like the V-rod and or why not? I know this is a biased forum, but any assistance would be great!!!! THanks so much!

I believe it's the sexiest bike in existence.

A). It's the fastest Harley money can buy nothing else comes close.
B). It's state of the art in HD motorcycles, no other Harley comes close.
C). It's unique, unusual, not main stream, not me too.
D). It screams.

Those that do not like V-Rods are jealous, stupid, or blind (why? see A, B, C, D above).

PS. I've been riding Harley's since 1980.

My V-Rod is a 2003 100th Anniversary Silver Anodized model, she's a beautiful metallic silver sculpture, and a fine piece of machinery thats part of Harley-Davidson history. She turns heads everywhere I go and I can ride her pulsing V-twin motor to 140 mph......

Can you tell I'm in love??:)

Why the V-Rod chose Me

It's fast. It doesn't look like any other bike. Willie G. Davidson designed it. It's fast. It draws glowing comments from strangers at stop lights. It's long and low. It's fast. You can swap out the 180 width rear tire for a 200 and it looks even cooler. It's comfortable to ride. It's fast. It does 0 to 60 in about four, yes four seconds (it took longer to read to this point) when it's still in first gear. People driving 2006 Corvettes pull up next to you and give you a "thumbs up" sign......

Did I mention it's fast?

Those of us who are fans like it for many reasons.
Looks/Styling, relative power and acceleration, it's modern, made in the USA, it's a Harley Davidson.
Those that don't like it have many resons as well.
It's a Harley Davidson (Harley haters), looks/styling (other more traditional Harley owners), it's not a traditional air cooled 45° V-Twin, and others.
There are many comparison threads on this and other forums where you can get any amount of opinion.

It is a different bike than most. In 2001 people would look at you crazy if you were say that I ride a bike that is part Porsche and part Harley and still may today. Get in the saddle and twist the grip and you'll know what they mean. I go to Rallies often and work at the MoCo demos were traditional Harley and competitor riders stand waiting in line to ride a V-Rod. I have heard every nasty comment someone could say about a bike said about the V-Rod while they are in line awaiting their turn. Once they get their turn and comeback into the staging area and take off there helmets, you couldn't get the smile off their face with a belt sander and just walk off in a trance. I wish i knew how many were heading to the dealer to buy theirs after that ride? Good luck with your report and let us know how it turns out.

Like somebody already mentioned, Its Porsche designed and thats the best quality, speed, reliability, and ultimate fun factor there is. Its the first water cooled Harley made, and is setting the standard for Harleys to come. There are plenty of accessories available to customize it just the way you like it. Your limited to your own imagination, and wallet. Its a very confortable bike even on long rides. The down fall to the bike in my opinion, is the small gas tank, but you cant have everything, theres always a compromize somewhere. Good luck on your project.

I chose it because it sticks out in a crowd. It's one of the most unique Harleys ever produced. It is fast right out of the box. It's liquid cooled, air cooled and has an oil cooler. It didn't take alot of effort or money to personalize it.Most of all my wife said it was OK for me to have one!:thumb:

Elrod on the V-Rod:biker:

I like it because when you put more horsepower into it it is fast enough to beat the fastest of the Jap bikes and that really gets their attention to the point of disbelief.

I like my bike because it takes me to my decompress/stress place. Getting on most times I'm tired and need an outlet, this is it. Even after a short hour ride I'm back and awestruck by what this bike can do. I don't worry about what could be leaking from my bike as I ride it, I have confidence in its designers, and glad that its made in the U.S.A.

Coolest compliment I have ever had happened while I was sitting at a light last summer. It wasn't some other guy on his bike, someone at a gas station, etc... It was this little kid in his car seat, maybe six years old. He waved, I waved back. He said something but I couldn't hear him so I killed the bike. I said; "Hey there short-man." He replied; "Can your motorcycle fly? I laughed and said; "Sometimes it can." The light changed so I had to get the bike going again and as we are all starting to move he yells "That's a cool toy!" I laughed for a mile or so.....Yep it sure is!
