I thought I saw a thread on here for stage II cam install? Thinking of installing myself. The mechanic that I was going to take my bike to on Monday called and said it would be two more weeks because he was going on vacation. I have a service manual but it says to remove the engine. Any step by step instructions out there and a list of any special tools needed?

Its not the cover its the rotor that slides over the crank. Its keyed and very tight.

Late start today. I live in podunkville. Had to drive 40 miles to buy a 1/4 in. torque wrench. The one I had didn't go low enough. Rear cyl. Cams are in and within tolerance. Going to double check everything then on to the front cyl..

I just installed my Stage II cams and the largest shim I used was 2.750, but we did a little pre-planning when the heads were ported and the new valves were left a little bit longer than stock.
Well today is the day. Just have to put exhaust on, fill with oil, and coolant. Thanks to RSC for all the help. I'll text you and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for everyone's help on here. Just gotta install new ground pounder exhaust and she is ready to fire up. Having a little trouble getting to one of the flange nuts. My hands are to big. Lol. Sink or swim day for me.

Well success! No leaks. No unusual noises. Finish putting together. Tune tomorrow. The only thing left is the 26T front pulley and a good cleaning. The ground pounder exhaust sounds baaaad. Again much thanks everyone.
