dont worry about the bike cops riding skills...........they are some of the best riders out there.........plus they ride 8-10 hours a day and get even better...... :blahblah: :2cents:
I don't doubt their skill but when you are riding fast on those bikes you have to have the reaction times of a fighter pilot, and it you are on the radio your full concentration won't be on what you are doing.. Its a totally differnt set of rules when you are crusing the motorways on a Pan-European vs chasing down a sports bike who is trying to run away..
Can you imagine the fuss if a cop comes off during a high speed chase and kills himself?? They will probably try and ban all bikes over 125cc.. :(

You only have to go so some of the biker hang outs to see the kind of bikes they will be chasing, a couple of weeks ago I was at one of the biker stops and saw a green bike (guessing a Kawa) with a full race fairing, no headlights or tail lights or indicators, slick tyres and it sounded very hot.. You think he is going to stop when a cop flashes him? I don't and its those idiots who make it hard on all of us..

the police where i am track you with cameras :notworth: ,persuit is a thing of the past and many old bill cars around here dont have sirens any more, ha ha  that is like a one legged man in an arse kicking contest  ,when they do catch you they roll you in a carpet and beat you with rubber hoses :spank:

Yeah heather, what it comes down to is the police "trying to reach the public" lol.
they wont do that or get any respect just because of what they are riding or driving,
respect is a two way thang.
and as for speed cameras, well apparently the number of fines are INCREASING,
that means they are not doing what they were meant to do,stop speeding
after all these years of "safety cameras" someone should have got the message by now,the fines just keep on piling up,not reducing,so they really work.NOT
The higherarchy need to stop the nhs dishing free needles to brown heads not chasing us.

Clive, I agree..

Hell, I see most "Safty" camera's on straight roads.. When last did someone slip off a straight road?

My feeling is that they are always saying its not there to raise revenue but for "safty" so then I think they should take the money aspect out of the equation.. The fine should be points and community service, if that ever happened can you just see how fast they would loose interest in cameras.. Safty my ass!! :soapbox:

Heather/ wipeout, :thumb: i agree, but we must also tow the party line at some stage.IF we dont we just get more legislation thrown our way.We all should have signed our licences ( a must if we got the new photo ID ones).that signature corresponds to a statement in the highway code saying
"I agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the highway code" :blahblah:
rants are ok on this forum as we all see things the same way (usually) but the rules are for everyone on the road including MPB's. :driving:
The roads in my neck of the woods would be 100 times safer if there was some money spent on decent surfaces to reduce braking distances, and people were actually SCARED of the police instead of reoffending, the number of disqualified drivers round here is silly.
If PC jobsworth told me to take my dark visor off,I would slip out my sunnys and ride on,
the funny thing is,previous governments have banned guns etc,but do you seriously reckon that is gonna stop someone loosing off lead if they dont give a stuff about the law in the first place ? :guns :2cents:

Clive, you make a good point..

Did you hear about the cop nailed doing 159mph in an unmarked police car for no "official" reason on the news this morning ??
He was let off because the judge said he was practicing and was a very good driver!!
What kind of crap is that??
So if we all go do a high speed driving course then surely we are all allowed to practice too.. :)

:thumb: I am with you wipeout,I obey the law to the best of my ability, just because i dont want to have to deal with the "shiney arse brigade" (police who aint got nothing to do all day but sit and eat microwave meals).

what makes me :yak: is if you get caught speeding 4 times you face loosing your licence and possibly loosing your living,if you beat a granny for her pension you get sent on holiday
off topic for a minute but,
see the news the other day about offenders wearing uniform whilst doing community service what rubbish.
I had ten thousand pounds worth of tools stolen when i was in the motor trade, they caught the guy and he got community service,i'm sorry but i dont quite understand how does that compensate me ?
back on subject,
due to the kioto agreement etc, this country has got to reduce co2 emissions by a certain date, and the internal combustion engine is one hell of a thorn in the governments side,so although they wont admit it ,but ,any government in the present day would have to figure out ways of reducing traffic,eg tax on fuel, insurance tax etc etc,but hold on,when i worked at car dealerships in this area, they were pumping out new cars as if there had been a four minute warning.

That cop getting off for 159 winds me up, he should have been on a race track testing if he wanted to see how fast his car went. How many times have we heard from them "public roads are not a race track"?

"I'm a pig so I'm exempt from all the laws". It is what they truly believe, and why shouldn't they? the judges agree too.

I used to live next door to one, and the patrol car was parked outside his house most of the day and he even used it to take the missus shopping in it too, loud parties all summer, no one else was allowed but HE was. :blahblah:

And they wonder why we don't think much of them :tmbsdow:

whats a RADIO WAVE ???:

A Radio Wave is a reference to a cop using his radio to call a cop located ahead of you. You can't outrun the wave if he can radio someone miles ahead of you instantly. It's a common US saying used by us speeders.

:lick: the judge who dicided about that the PC was most probably let off when caught 3 times over the limit by the said PC :lick:
As they say "professional courtesy" :yak: :hmm:if the :hitfan: you stick together, and that case is one to remember so if you get picked on you can quote it as "fairness in action " :moon:
oh,and please remember any tabloid will sensationalize a story to get you read it,im off to buy mcn.

Reduce co2? Just cut down all the trees and bushes...they produce co2. :rofl2:
