Fram oil filter?

I read somewhere on here about aap's mobil one special with a fram filter for like $43 bucks. The parts guy could not find a fram filter for the bike, is that true? if not what number is it? What filter are you guys using that are not running amsoil?

I run Mobil one in everything I own, I would like to stay with it.

Fram filters are crap purolator is better you have to make sure the by pass pressures match the stock filter

I don't use fram or puralator in my other rides, Mobil one oil and filter. This just what the sale was. Thanks Frenchie.

I agree. I do not use them on the 451 stroker in the Duster

There have been evidence of collapses in the past with them, but Harley does not make their own and I needed a cross reference.

For a manufacturer like Wix.

I just use a factory HD filter and Amsoil. Change the oil when it needs too and keep your work area clean when you have the dip stick out so nothing can fall into it. you don't need anything fancy

I'm using AMSOIL and I use a K&N oil filter. I like the nut welded on the can makes for easy replacement.

If you need to buy the filter and oil together for the special price and you can't get a good equivalent filter for the V-rod, just get a filter for your car or truck. You'll probably need it soon enough anyway.

I don't know much about these washable filters, but when you are talking about filtering particles in the micron size, I would be concerned about how clean you get them, and filter degradation over time.

Been using Fram all my life and no problems. Did see one explode on a friends 1968 Ford 360 pickup when the internal oil pressure spring stuck open. That wasn't the filter's fault as it did the same to a Motorcraft.
