What an Amazing Ride!!

Just went to the 2nd Annual Blue Ridge Bike Fest this past weekend. So we took the Blue Ridge Parkway down to Roanoke. By far the most AMAZING road I have ever been on. This Ride is a MUST if you live in Virginia!!!!

Or from any where!! A friend and I came down from Rhode Island and hoped on right at the very start at the Shenandoah National Park (not actually the BRP but it turns into it). We rode down to the end into the Smokey Mountains.

A trip I will NEVER forget. It was amazing.

Have fun Boost, you're going to love it! Are you going to do the few extra miles and head on over to Deals Gap?

Edit: Never mind, you're starting from the south. I should have read closer :)

In July we are riding it from start to finish. We are starting at Cherokee going to the end turn around and come back. I've been wanting to do this for years and get to do it this year. Awesome road!
You should Definitely check the blue ridge parkway web site for closures. On my way down to Roanoke the last stretch was closed due to the "Blue Ridge Killer". Park Police had it blocked off. Thank God for the iPhone and Google maps.

Man you guys suck LOL! I wish I would have known ya'll were coming. I wandered around that lot Saturday and Sunday looking for some VRodders to talk to and never saw a single one other than the Nightrod trike in the inside exhibition area.
Drop me a PM next time and I can show ya'll some of our other hidden gems.

I saw one Vivid DX in the P-lot and saw a Guy with a Muscle at the Light. My DX was parked across the street at the Hotel.

My brother and I are planning this ride as well this summer. I do not know which end we will start from.
I live near the southern tip (TN). He lives near the northern tip (DC). Any tips or suggestions would be helpful.

Flip a coint draw strws pull teh location out of a hat you cant go wrong no matter where you start

Schedule an extra hour when you get to Bent Mt. Va. (route 221). Its right off the Parkway and has some unreal twisties with very steep elevation changes. Its worth the detour.

Come on down and join us. We had about 7-10,000 bikes last year and this year will likely be bigger. If you come down drop me a PM and maybe we can hook up for a nice little ride afterwards.
