anyone know the difference in the 02 to 04 swing arm and the 05 swingarms, they look the same but i can see the bearings are different, is the swingarm spindle the same size ? are the 05 bearings needle or taper and will the later arm fit in an earlier frame? already haver a powdered black one you see but it has no bearings in.

The motor mounts and shaft are different. I have a 05 motor with 02 swing arm and pivot shaft. I put my motor mounts in a lathe and removed some material so they would work. I'll direct a couple people to this thread that can help more and can tell you if you need to get a different shaft and or mounts.

I put an 05 swingarm on my 04. I used the 05 axle at the wheel and had to have the shoulder on the 05 pivot shaft machined down to match the shoulder on the 04 pivot shaft. Everything else was just bolt and go...

The brake caliper needs to be machined to 1 inch to accept the axle.
bloody hell i wish i hadnt asked !!! all i wanted to do is put a cheap powdered black one i had in, i think i'll just get the original one powdered too as this will cost £20 opposed to small fortune its going to cost to put the other one in.

I cant usually remenber where half the bolts i've took off are never mind all the part numbers for it all and the sizes LOL
