As I research new exhaust for my 06 VRSCSE2 with a PCV, I notice that some exhaust come with a single O2 sensor and some come with Dual O2 Sensors. I am wanting to put either the Bub Jug Huggers or the Rinehart Staggered Exhaust on my bike, along with autotune, but am confused when it comes to single/dual sensors. Why would you only want a single sensor? Wouldn't you want to monitor the front and back? Would I need to get later model exhaust to overcome the single port issue?

Thanks for any help!! :banghead:

All you really need to know is that the PCV with auto-tune uses 2 sensors, so you need 2 ports. you can always weld on another port if needed.

Thanks for the quick response......I think I will go with Jug Huggers! They come with dual sensors and seem to have a good sound.

So long as you understand you will be sacrificing performance. The jug huggers are loud, clean, and will LOOSE POWER compared to the stock exhaust. Just as long as you are making an informed decision.

How much power will I lose? What about the Rineharts for a later model vrod? As you can probably tell, I am trying to avoid any welding!

welding the O2 sensor bungs is a quick 15 minute job that can be done by any local welder or muffler shop. Worst case scenario it will cost you $50 to have two bungs welded in. If you go to muffler shop it will most likely only be 20 or 30.
There's a word file floating around on here that lists several popular exhaust set ups and the power loss/gain compared to stock set up. One of the best (if not the best) performing exhaust systems was the stock cans V-modded. If I can get my files off my old laptop, I'll post or pm you the word file, but I know it's been posted in several threads.

I love my VROD but all Harley buyers sacrifice performance in some way. It may be speed...it may be comfort...or it may be handling....in most cases it's all three but folks still keep buying....

AOW, A dumb question. Where do I get the other O2 bung? From the exhaust manufacturer or from Dynojet?

most any Hot-Rod shop, or Muffler shop, and all over the web online.
and most likely the 2 you listed as well. ask fuelmoto when you order the auto-tune.

Thanks for that info on the bungs, I think I just may have had some luck. As I was walking my dog in the neighborhood one of my new neighbors introduced himself and is a retired Harley mechanic. Imagine that!

Never trust a HD mecanic:stilpoke:

Kidding

Not kidding

Maybe,if the HD technician owns & maintained a vrod for several years.:D

Beware:You may have to weld bung hole @ an angle...no problem.

This may also be the case with PCV-auto tune .

Are you buying new or used? This is the big ?

I ran the duals and loved the loud pipe at first...then it just got old with my ears ringing all the time.

I even made custom baffels for them and lost tons of HP.

Make sure the pipes you buy can have the bungs welded on and not show to much burn on the Chrome.

Is that what you really want...$500 - $700 exhaust that needs to be sent out for rechroming. Just a thought.

I think that some of the new ones already have bungs on them.

Get ahold of Sharkey here on the forum and he can hook you up with the bungs.

Search here..I showed How I put mine in my header pipes.

Good Luck
