I just finished watching the 'Making of the V-Rod' video (again) And after seeing how many designs and what they went thru to get the radiator (Gumby Coffin) to look good, I highly doubt they would throw something like that on a new V-Rod, no matter what model it is.

On a second note, did anyone notice (for those that have seen the video) that the prototype was almost entirely black?...Much like the DX. (I just thought that was interesting)
Exactly! If you also remember, Willie specifically wanted a frame that looked like a "jewel," something that could be looked at and admired by itself. He would die if they covered it up.

I just saw pics of the 09 "Muscle" Vrod. I was at a local dealership tonight and a sales guy snuck me peaks at the parts catalog.....the tail looks more like this..........

NOW we're talking!

Not the "I'm using an M109 front cowl for a rear fender" POS fender in the pics.

"On a second note, did anyone notice (for those that have seen the video) that the prototype was almost entirely black?..."

The question is, think anybody noticed it when Willie G decided to take it for a hot lap on Capital Drive at noon? I have a close friend who's a Dyno tech at the PDC and was hired for this project, he brought the "black" bike home for a night and gave my girlfriend (they grew up together) a ride. When she asked, "what the hell is this?" All he could say was..."Dont ask, just get on and tell me what you think". My gf was one of the first "test dummies" for the VR project I'm proud to say!

So yes, the prototypes were black. The Buell XB9R prototype and the 1125R prototype were blacked out as well. License plates that say, "MFG" on them are always a dead give away.

prototypes are always black, they think they are less conspicuous

I literally fall in love with the 2002 VRSCA when I saw it in tv. I never rode a bike before, so I get my motorcycle license to ride it.

So I think I'll never change it for another bike (especially now that I almost chromed all I want to be chromed). Except another V will make me fall in love with (it should be very smilar to the '02, though). I'll consider maybe buying another bike (like a RK Custom or a Street Glide) in the future for long trips.

The AW and DX could be better (1250 cc, ABS, 240, 19 liters tank ecc) but they're less beatiful than the '02-'03-'04 A (the '02 always the best for me. anodized aluminum is "her" color), maybe due to the smaller tank and smaller tyre that keep the bike smoother and less "fat" on their size.

Just like a beatiful woman: will she be still be beatiful with 5 Kgs more on her hips? ;)
