Bike still doesn't look DOT. I have heard about Harley putting there bikes out at these LA shows in the past but all those bikes look like a stock bike. I like the look of the bike in the pic but it looks like a custom show style V-Rod. I also find it hard to believe they would change the look of the rad shrouds.

That is not an '09. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts. First, HD would not allow it to be parked out on the street pre-release. Then (in no particular order): no reflectors on forks, no directionals, 2-1 exhaust...

Based on the longer rear shocks and inverted forks, I'm guessing a picture of amodified 'R', accompanied by rumor.
THERE ARE FRONT REFLECTOR LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP LEG

I'll hold my judgement until some more/bettet pics come in, but if I were to go with first impressions, I'd say I'm more than a little disappointed...

Harley hype

I think it's just Harley turning up the heat on it's forth coming offical release in Vegas next month.

Yamaha has just luanched the New V-Max with 200 bhp and Harley
doesn't want everyone running out and ordering it, so they put a disguised bike out for Media hype, knowing we would all be watching.

car OEMs disguise their stuff all the time, but leak out pictures to the press, or put their prototypes out to guage reaction.
that's why it's not fully DOT, and production things like the "dogs Ass" are not there, but in true production form they will be.

probably, the only thing you can say for sure is that there will be a new V-Rod in 2009 VRSCF, and it will have inverted forks? For the rest, it's just camoflague.

But they succeeded in getting us talking about it !!!!

Well it would have to be the F version because My sales rep for military sales has my 2009 DX locked in for tomorrow vivid black / orange pearl abs

All I can keep thinking when I look at the picture is, what kind of biker party is it when there is only guys in the picture and they are all holding glasses of wine????! Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I guess if they can classify the Rocker as a Softtail, they could technically make a non-VRod looking Vrod in the VRSC model line ...

From that pic, I would say the bike is probably not for me ... but look at all of the VMax, Busa and MT-01 riders out there ... there is a market for ugly bikes ;)

I hope they do come out with something like this ... the bright side is that the Moco is puting some investment in the line and it shows they are confident taking the VRSC into the future ...

We are always the first to say the Moco is living in the past ... if they are trying a futuristic design on the VRSC line, I say go for it and see what happens. I would rather see them adding to the line than keep taking away ...

I would rathr see them trying this, than I would them sticking the Revo into the old style bikes ... I love the VRod and I want to see the model keep up with the technological times. The more they sell (even if ugly bikes sell), the more money that will be available to invest in improving the line!

By this logic.. the D,R,AW,DX,CX...would not be a VRSC then.

What would it be classified as then?

The Rocker uses a Softail frame and this bike has a VRSC frame.

Not a personal attack here but come on let's all be smart about this and just wait until the end of July when all of the models are announced.

That is my point ... the Rocker doesn't look like a typical softtail, but the frame is technically the same.

The pic is obviously riding on a VRod frame with primarily VRod parts ... I would have no problem with this bike being in the VRSC line. It may not my style of bike, but 95% of what the Moco builds is not for me ...

Looks like a fat 5 spoke out back, Not sure what going on with the shrouds.

Anyone that had Kosman widen their 5 spoke wheel does this look like their work ?

If that is, which I doubt, an 09, looks like they resorted back to "Gumby's Casket" as they called the shrouds in the "Birth of a Vrod" movie. LOL

If that's really it, the million-dollar question is whether or not the "08 D-type" wheel that they seem to have used will now come in a 240 rear size directly from HD. If so, I'll be ordering a set of those wheels.

Also if that inverted fork will work with earlier v's, than I'll be ordering one of those too...

I think it has potential. It would need to be modded a bit to fit my liking. I hope the front vents are for some kind of forced air system.

Where is the guy who told about the model talking about the new V-Rod used in a future MoCo catalog? Ask her if it is the same bike.
I don't know if this is the bike she did the Catalogue shoot with, I'll see if I can find her and show her the pic!
I have to agree with some of you, it's not that appealing, but neither was the 2002 V-Rod when I saw it! I changed everything on it to get it the way I wanted it!
But I wouldn't doubt it!
They want it to look futuristic, well it does!
Imagine it in Black!
