I used to be in the distribution chain for bike accessories, so I can share with you one important thing...research research research until you find the lid that fits you BEST for the $$ that you're willing to spend. Few of us have the good fortune like my missus who walked into Moss St's Honda dealership and got the perfect lid on special for $200. I still shake my head....

Anyway, FWIW I work with a bloke who was on the ride last year when a fatality occurred up in far north Qld when a bunch of riders smashed their way through a caravan - never mind the details, but, after seeing the human destruction, almost all of the riders went off and purchased fullface to replace their open faced lids. Not preaching, just sharing......yes, I have both open and full.....

oh shit.......... yeah ive been looking at fullface too, especially for road trips,i like the open face for short trips around town.have you seen the simpson brand helmets? very nice looking but bloody pricey.

Get the one that fits your head, not the one with the best look.

The only ones I have seen that sit low on your melon are novelty ones. The are not approved and here in NSW it is 3 points and a hefty fine for riding with them.

I do miss my Viking helmet.

Oh I agree.

My brother isnt bad with a spray gun and painted flames on the current one I wear.

It is bulky but it is dot approved :D Safety first.

The main reason for me needing a new one is I have lost a lot of weight and it is loose now.

Here is the one I wear atm. My bros first attempt at painting a helmet and flames. hehe not bad.

He wants me to get a matt one next time and he reckons its gonna be heaps better than the current one. :D

Just bought a Nolan N41 Gloss Black and the couple of Nolan stickers are Silver which match my NRS perfectly went with the Tinted visor as well I think it looks quite good without making my head look like a melon.

I'll only wear a full face helmet. I figure I'm ugly enough as it is. I've had too many bugs, birds and rocks hit me hard in the face area to trust an open face and mask, let alone if I take a tumble.

keep it full!

Ive worn open face for 17yrs,when i got the rod in jan i bought a fullface, after the prang in feb with the marks and damage to the chin/cheek area on the helmet,i will never own an openface again, its just to hard to pull on a beer/cigy with no jaw,i can direct you to a pic on a website if you need more swaying to go fullface, but its dam graffic! I got a shoei xr1000 now, very $$$$ but great airflow over helmet and thru the vents, much better price if you order online from the states.

I'm with Wick Nolan N41 Classic Plus matt black...third Nolan i have had...
