Two comments, first if Steffy is attracted to a VROD, then I probably want to be near one. Just seems to make sense.
Second, if I ever buy a second bike it could well be the buell 1125. Great HP and decent price.

If cost is your stumbling block then look at a lightly used 1 or 2 year old bike, there are a lot out there and you can save a ton of cash. D's can be had all day long at the end of the model year for mid $12's so the cost difference issue really isn't!

Think about it another way, you have a Mercedes C-Class sitting next to a Toyota Camry. Both are the same size, both have the roughly equivalent performance (comparing V6 Luxury versions) but the Toyota is $12,000 cheaper. Do you buy the Camry and bank the money always knowing it was a substitute for the Mercedes or do you buy the Mercedes and enjoy the fruits of your labor?

The choice is yours, both bikes will get your hair in the wind but only one will get your soul in the wind.......
You said to much THE LAST SENTENCE SAYS IT ALL, THANKS I am glad to see that somebody "Gets it"! Rod-On Dar

Great idea Mike, thanks

How about we meet at the Bottoms Up in NSB ?

The other thread about the V&H pipe, is that the same as yours?

Good chance if you show up, I'll be there!

As for the pipe. No I do not have the Indy. I have the original 2-1.

I have,....ahem several mc's in my garage, and while in my opinion the VROD is limited in it's abilities,I paid too much etc. It is the one I always look at and park in a position to take it out with the least trouble. I rarely cover it even though it will keep it cleaner, just so I can look at it or sit on it. It is more of an event to ride.Spiritual if you will and not because of the HD hype.
'Busa=smoother,faster,quicker,better handling,thrilling.
Interceptor=smoother, better for two up, the bike I would travel on long distance.
883 Sporty= Nostalgic,historic,basic
Vrod= !!! the RIDE of Choice for most rides. The word that comes to mind is 'Conected'. Find one at a good price and you won't regret it.

My first bike: :vrod: Never had a license before, never been on the streets before this year...now 8500 miles in 4 months - love the ride - bike works with you - you sit in it and not on it...big difference in feeling of security for a first time rider...Love the power now from 0-100, like the way she bends over in the curves, and most of all - I can ride for hours at a time and not feel beat up or tired - actually just the reverse...needless to say, very happy with my choice. I am the Harley Davidson Stepchild and took some :stac: at first, I didn't give a :stac: because I bought it for ME! Now just ask some of my CBR1000 buddies what the V-Rod can do.
:2cents:

I totally agree. I was seriously looking at a BMW 1150RT but found the bimmer online sites to be full of self-important and arrogant types (with some exceptions of course). After asking some sincere questions as I researched the bike, I received limited advice and maximum attitude. This site is just the opposite -- helpful in the extreme. It was the tipping point on buying an R.

Not to mention that the BMW 1150RT is butt-ugly...:bolt
