Picked up last August a bone stock 2016 NRS.
Been digging around forum groups, social media, and the web getting ideas.
So far I’ve gone to an Akrapovic exhaust.
K&N filter and topless.
Galfers rotors.
2018+ Fatbob 1.5” bars and risers.
Had a custom bracket made to move the speedo off the bars and fitted the older style cowl and light.
Awaiting a new headlight before I can finalize a harness to fit the OEM main harness to H4 connector of the old style light.
Black Diamond grips and still waiting on my Black Diamond pegs.
Have also had my luggage rack powdercoated black.
Much more planned.

Didn’t like the Cult Werks headlight and speedo kit so I will probably sell that soon enough.

Got the light on and wired up. I used a 4pin connector and made a harness for the light that connects to the original main harness spot. I used a 4pin and added a wire to accessory spot to the original harness. this wired to the DRL and comes on with the ignition. Put the Highbeam on a switch which kills power to the low beam. (I don’t know electrical Terminology but this is how I wired it and how it worked). The highbeam switch on the handle bars still works as normal with it wired this way. So during the day I can kill the low beam and have just the DRL on. As night falls I can flip the switch to have the lowbeam activated all while still being able to use the stock highbeam switch.

Took the bike out to Letchworth State Park for a little day trip.

Chrome Glow rear license plate and light bar showed up. Installed that but haven’t had time to grab photos.
I did however snap my seat post bolt. 😭😭

now have to remedy that problem. Always have to break something 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Anyone ever replace this so it still looks factory?

The season here in WNY is over. Need one more clear day to get the bike situated for storage. (Full tank, stabil ram through the fuel system, and plugged into tender).
Safe riding to all you who still have decent clear weather!
Hoping I can get some work done over winter but not betting on it!

Got the custom speedo back from Angelo over at DutchCustomLED.
Sent out the bits and pieces for powdercoat and have them back.

Should be installing some stuff this weekend and hopefully be ready to throw the Arnott air kit on next week with a custom center stand.

That’ll leave me with just the Killer Glass coolant hose to install.

Next step will be finding the proper bar measurements before I have some custom sweep bars made.

I have a 2016 DX. So I think the 07 R bars are less rise. I ditched the stocks bars and clamshell. Currently using 2018 Fatbob bars and risers but they don’t fit the way I’d like. They’re also pretty wide (33.5”). I also wanted something like a drag bar and not the Moto style that comes on the DX. Trying to avoid a full custom setup where I would have to change or extend cables and wires. Might have finally found what I’m looking for after a year of researching.
Drag Specialties Big Buffalo T-Bars 5” rise. Still hunting for photos of other bikes with 6” risers.
Indecisive at the moment lol.
Appreciate the input though!

Got new bars. Went with some Big Buffalo T-Bars. They’re nearly perfect but with the pullback and shape of the bars they dip down at the grips. They’re made for Dynas and Sportsters. So the rake of the V-Rod causes them to have a “downward” pullback. I’ll be putting these and stock 2018 Fatbob bars and risers up for sale once I find my replacements.

Going to be changing then again. Picked up some Trask 6” risers from a local shop.

But here’s some photos of them installed for now.

Installed and drilled up my “switch board” for my headlight.

Nick Calandra center stand installed and functioning. Nick also did my killer glass and a friend of mine got the LEDs installed.
Still a lot of things that need to be done before MWT but my plan is to handle that next week/weekend.

I also received my goodies that I ordered which I will try to install next week as well.

Still have to do
Bars and risers
Magnum cables
New tires
Oil change
Seat pan swap
Rear pulley

Moving right along this year.
