Valve lash adjustment issue
I am performing the 8th valve lash adjustment and I have what is a puzzle.
Front cylinder you rotate the engine until the lobes of the cams point 10 and 2, then check for proper clearances.
All good to this point
On to the back cylinder, I can not get the lobes of the cams to point to 10 and 2. I have cycled the engine maybe 10 full cycles and they do not seem to make any headway in getting them any closer to 10 and 2.
I checked the cam timings and it appears all is correct., The marks on the cam gears all line up. The cam lobes are close to what the book illustrates
Front lobes sit at about 4 and 8 o'clock nominal.
Rear lobes sit at about noon and 9 O'clock.
In the many times I have performed a valve lash I have never run into this problem.
What pray tell am I doing wrong?
Everything is JMHO. Accuracy is not assured.
