Should I put additional money into this?

I have a 2003 V Rod that I purchased 3 weeks ago with 21,000 miles on it . The bike starts and runs perfectly after 1,500 miles. It looks good from 20 feet away. I ride around 500 miles per week. My plan is to do oil changes, tires etc. and save up for a newer bike and trade this one in at a dealer in 2 years. My question is if I put money into the bike for such things as replacing various chrome parts and other cosmetic items and taking it to the dealer for an inspection and valve clearance work. Will I get enough for the trade in to cover the additional cost?

Feel like saying what you paid for it?
500 miles/wk = 26k/year 2 years = 52k so 21k + 52k = 73,000 miles
Dealer wont touch it .. private sale

Forget the pretty chrome parts you will need the $$ for Pro Valve check(s) svc , no?
Do you have the maint records? Valve Lash Worksheet?
IMHO:
Vrod Prices seem to be falling.
Seems you never get your money back on goodies anyway, especially cosmetics.
I would do the important/known common stuff for that year and model.
Breather Hose. IAT Relocate (may i'm wrong or its done)
Triple Sprocket check? Water Pump Gasket?
Safety Stuff- Brake clean up, pads and fluid flush, clutch fluid and Coolant
Check the frame Bolts- Triple Tree Nut..

Sounds like a winner bike, running good.
Enjoy it and worry about selling later!

I paid $4000 for the bike, I do not have any maintenance records for it.
I see they installed a cheap battery instead of the HD OEM type.
The oil is clean and the oil and air filter both look new.
I have some additional questions.
What is the IAT? where is the proper location for it?
What needs to be done with the breather hose?
When you say brake clean up, does that mean resurfacing the rotors?
Do the triple tree nut and frame bolts just need to be tightened to a certain torque spec.?
The water pump is not leaking, should I replace it?
Does the valve check require removal of the engine?
When I brake hard I notice a clicking sound coming from the front, will the triple tree nut work correct this?
I really appreciate your help, as you can see I don't know much about any of this.
