Oil bypass valve ?

Hey just wanting some advice please just put new crank in my 2015 muscle
on startup it blew oil filter seal out and oil everywhere thought it was airlock but no
I put Lucas stabiliser on all bearings and 20/50 in motor oil is now quite thick blew oil filter seal again after bleed so do I look at oil bypass? Just thought I’d ask before removal cheers

The original oil filter type has an internal bypass valve. Also the oil pump has a safety valve which opens at about 6 bar.
Did you modify this?

All stock v rod filters have a bypass valve in the filter. You want that. The pump also has a relief valve that pops open at a set pressure. I doubt the stabilizer was the issue here although enough of it can block small passages and raise psi a bit above normal on a cold start with thicker oil. It should not blow the seal out though. How snug did you turn the filter on and which model pump do you have as in early or late?

2015 muscle tts supercharger ,2nd time done it up tight with filter tool ,motor has just been pullled down for new crank could I have done smthn wrong?

Normally it's a 3/4 turn more after contact on filter at most. I can't explain why it's doing what it's doing. Only thing I can think up is if it's cold while you are doing this, try heating up the oil pan first with a heat lamp. This might help move the oil along until it moves all that Stabilizer out of the way. Let's face it a filter is pretty fool proof and if it's the same oil pump with no relief valve mods done to it, cold oil and up stream blockage is the only thing that makes sense. Heat lamp the sump and engine bottom and try one more time.

In saying that I don’t understand how that’s possible ? You mean the mains ? They are centre hole to hole, bigends don’t have hole ????

There is an oil flow path diagram in the repair manual. The oil comes out of the oil filter and goes directly to the oil cooler. Check to make sure the oil cooler is not blocked. Pull the oil cooler lines out of the block and try to blow compressed air through it. Look for kinks in the cooler lines. If that is ok then try blowing through the cooler line fitting on the block. The bearing shells only go in one way with the notch into the groove so it would be very hard to get that wrong.

I have the old pump out of the 1130 it looks better than the 1 in it is this what you ment by which pump ?

Yes done all that my oil pressure is reading so that explains no blockages , will post after I’ve done releive valve as it’s my main suspect

What oil pressure is it reading at the oil sensor location. That might point to if it's the pumps relief valve. Normal for late model pumps is in the 60-70 psi cold start. No experience with pressure readings with the 1130 pumps but likely in the 80-90psi cold start.
Oil filter would be the weak point of an over-pressure situation.

I’m just going off the light going out ,I pulled apart and the relief valve is at the pin end is that open or shut?
