I used a stock wheel (widened by Kosman) to keep the hub area the same. The stock spacers still work okay. Plus I liked the 10 spoke wheel. I had the chrome pulley already. I put the stock pulley back on before I sent it to V-Mod to be narrowed. In all this the bike was never really down. All parts were onhand before I started, finished the job in about 4 hours. Thats taking breaks for a cold drinks and cooling down. It gets hot here in Florida.

Last question.... How much did Kos charge you to widen the wheel and what width did you go with?

The belt quard is different for the wider wheel, I suppose you could cut your original to fit. I think Kosman charged 550.00 to widen wheel to 8.5 inches. I bought the tire online for 139.00 free ship. I know its an Elite 3 but I still have Dunlop on front . Bike only has 5000 miles on it.

How has your belt held up? mine has 200km on it and its destroyed. Im running a 07 wheel, pulley, 03 spacers and cushdrive, 06SE skinny belt, 28tooth front pulley. just curious why my belt is showing the braiding so soon.

This thread is three years old. I don't think the original poster has the bike anymore. I am running the 06SE belt and the 28 tooth with a turbo and I just rolled over 17000 miles on the belt.
