Was informed last year that my rear brake light switch wasn't working (front was). Inspector said, fix before next year... I procrastinated, and today went out and wiggled the connectors. And that fixed it. Woo Hoo.

Minor changes... LoL!

In the process of swapping out engines prepping to upgrade my original 1130 to 1320.
Installing a '05 SE 1250 with a handful of updates installed.
this alone should be a substantial upgrade to what i had.
My last upgrade experiment attempt hasn't worked out so well, live and learn!
Heads way too big for bottom end, not big enough cams,

So... back to the drawing board, rather than have major down time, bought an '05 SE 1250 and have updated that (somewhat). Will proceed over the next while and off season of rebuilding my original 1130 to 1320 with some serious cams, my destroyer spec heads and the other goodies I am accumulating

Figure the 1320 is a good platform as the only real serious mods are to the cases which are readily available and piston size upgrade.
Then I can stay with stock rods and crank if there are any future issues, theses are also readily available.

Remember, I'm on the West Coast of Canada, not very much support out here like you guys in the Eastern States!

Cheers!

Sounds like a nice project. Just curious where you got the used 1250 and what's the going rate for one? I'd build a beast engine but thinking a nice used 1250 would be a good upgrade to my 1130.

Thanks,

John

I’ve been looking for an solution to the low sissybar height for my wife. I bought a drag specialty round bar, removed he factory pad and drilled some holes. TheDS Nat is pre-threaded 1/4x20 Bought some stainless bolts, added a sundowner rear pillion and will order a backrest pad. If I did it again I would move the holes up a bit and hopefully be able to suck the upper bar in a bit.

I also bought a shorty vrod bar to run 99% of the time the wife is holding on.

Tried to install Progressive Drop in front lowering springs. Contrary to what Progressive says, they won’t work in the 2014 NRS. The forks need to be removed and disassembled. Not real happy now that I installed their rear 444 that are 1” shorter.

I looked at the alloy engine covers and the swingarm, decided they could use a good polishing.

Went for a ride to the grocery instead.

Home now for a short time, leaving again soon.

I dropped it off with my buddy so he can put ArgleBargle's exhaust on it for me. I'll be in the field spraying corn and wont have time to do it myself for a few days and I want my new toys put on now

Will get a call to the local dyno tuner to get it in the end of the week to dial it in. Ill post pictures when I pick it up.

After laying the muscle down last month I put on new bars, replaced the left side hand switches, grip and rear view mirror. Today I will replace the left side exhaust.

Mike, be prepared for replacing the shifter shaft. Many with left side lay downs have discovered their shifter shaft was damaged, only when it failed. (I've lost two in 98,000 miles.).

Thanks Dan I took it for a good ride today and it appears to shift ok. Between the handlebars on the F and the mini boards I just put on they took most of the beating. However, I am taking it into the dealer for the 1k service and told them to check it. Yea I laid it down with only 800 miles on the odometer!
